Auto those boudaries have been pushed back a bit since one bloke top edged a pull shot that was caught, only for the fielder to be 40 metres away from batsman but still having to signal 6  ;)

Cmon mate, you have to give me some glory, i made 80 odd that day not out and we won. I need all the glory i can get, my bowling just isnt doing it for me anymore.

Whilst we know nearly any score against NEK can be run down by them, if you'd offered me 252 before the start of play, I would have taken it.

Not trying to downplay the runs mate, we would all take Two Fiddy at the start of the day. IMO St Rose Lakes Plains and NEK offer the best value for runs of the A grade Grounds, whilst Vi$ta Jailview and Lutherans offer the least value, both having long grass blades with a ball resistance factor of 8. Fitzroy is about even money. To be successful at Lutherans you need to hit the ball in the air alot, or hope the right bowler comes on from the right end and you can attack the small boundary with pull shots, cross bat slogs, or some superbly timed shots off the legs. NEK is my favourite, shortish boundaries and lightning fast ground. Nice to field on as well. (this is the kind of shit i come up with when im standing at slip wondering why im still chasing a red **** ing ball around a **** ing field on a hot **** ing day)

Rose Park 'B' 40 vs Brooklyn 113

After winning the toss and electing to bat in humid conditions, Rose Park's openers were looking to kill their skipper as they were both out cheaply. At 2 for 20, Brenton Reidy entered the crease and everything he touched turned into gold. The agressive batsman fell 8 runs short of his ton to set Rose Park up for a big score. However once he was dismissed, Rose Park hit the self destruct button and lost 5 for 20 and is serious doubt of scoring much more than 200. Ian Henderon was at the crease and for the 2nd game in a row was taking to the bowling attack but needed a partner to stick around. (Can't believe I'm about to write this  ) Rob O'Gorman strode to the crease and became Henderson's unlikely partner in crime as they boosted the score to 252, before Henderson was the final man out on the last over of the day for 49. Thorpe from NEK was the pick of the bowlers and showed why he's one of the leading wicket takers in the comp, bowling several unplayable deliveries. Cheers to the NEK lads for sticking around for a bevy or 2 despite a long day in the field, but we know with several of their big hitters any score is not unatainable for them.

Im sure it was an oversight cougar, but how many runs did Shane Watson's replacement make.....all us fans are hanging to know. By the way i heard the Egyptians are currently cleaning out the great Pyramid of Giza and they are removing all of Pharaoh Khufu's stuff in preparation for Rob O'Gorman.

Here is a pic of the great man in question arriving for the big game.

Martin is in either grade and the others are available one week only

Just to clarify, we had six players who could only play one week this round.

In the B's, J.Vines is swapping for J.O'Regan and A.Timm for N.Maxted.

In the A's, N.Schreiber is swapping for D.Frick. Given that the younger Schreiber can only go where his Dad does, they both ended up in the A's in the shuffle.

T.Wilson, I.Martin, N.Maxted, myself and P.O'Brien have all played both A's and B's this year, so there's always some swapping around that occurs, but the core of both teams remains pretty constant.

Despite the fact that our B's were bolstered by some class this week, Paralowie were always going to struggle with eight players. Also, it was good to see that the regular B-graders took the vital wickets and made some good runs.

Just on Paralowie, after the controversy of last week, I just wanted to come out in their defence. Dutchy, the Friths, Boxy, and Eddie are all great fellas and really funny at times to play against. I hope they come good for the rest of the season, because they have plenty to offer the association.

Cheers mate just hope we can get a couple more regular players.

True. They still selected Hodson in the A's

Hey Carey, I hear your calling my mate a dirty slapper! You gave him a nice bruise btw :p

Haha yeah i did have a few words to him he was'nt of the mark yet i'd beaten his bat a few times and then he trys a slap over mid wicket i just reminded him they were 1 for 5 and he was batting 3.

As for the bruise yeah that would've hurt a bit got him flush.

He was looking good i wouldve thought he'd be in your A grade silly shot to get out tho for 20odd

[quote="auto"]Fitzies A's chasing Adelaide Lutherans 252 next week. Borgy 70 or 80. Not sure who else made runs. [quote]

We're chasing 229 to win next week Auto. They made 8/228 from 65. Borgy had two lives on his way to 75. Couple of other contributions of 20s and 30s.

I tend to agree...teams/players in div 2,3,4 should have that opportunity to play too, whether our comp runs a comp or a few teams get together during some of our weekends off, who knows

It's this Sunday at The Adelaide Lutheran Cricket Club, located on the corner of South Terrace and Goodwood Road at Park 21 East and West. Luthies are hosting Old Scotch CC in their quarter final, while Pooraka CC will play against St Rose Parks Lakes CC on the adjoining turf wicket oval.

The semi final between the winners of these games will then be played on the turf ground, with hard wicket backups available in the event of inclement weather.

Winner plays on Adelaide Oval

Good Luck to Rose Lakes and Adel. Lutheran for these games. A tough proposition but not impossible!

Interesting thing from last nights meeting was Adel. Lutheran and Wingfield ( D Grade ) round 1 match has been
re-scheduled ( did i spell that right typo? looks wrong ) for January 7. Remember? only a couple Wingfieldians turned
up and then claimed the ground was unfit to play on. :^o

Another dissapointing turnout BTW
