how does a club compete in recruiting when they are not a position to pay or do not have a philosophy of paying? they are then left with mates or attracting a few outsiders which the club has done along the way.
there is no doubt we had the quality to move back up this year but in the end a turn of luck changed that in the QF and 2nd semi and Glenunga were bound to win at some point. now the test is who wants to be at the club and who wants to be somewhere else.
dont you worry about BOS mate, they'll kick on

It's funny, I was eavesdropping on a conversation in the gym today, as I tend to do when conversations turn to footy. A young lad, whom I know is an old scholar of a certain school in the area, was saying he was going to join in the Norwood preseason next week and that if he didn't make it he would just go to the hills league and chase money because they pay big bucks there.

Something you wish you could do Q?

I like the cut of your jib.

The $ involved in modern "amateur" football is a complete and utter disgrace.

Said it before and I will say it again. The saafl need to do more to, if not eliminate, reduce cash payments as much as they can.

I don't have a problem with paying players per se, many are worth luring and slot in seamlessly within a club's environment. And I don't really think, in general that the SAAFL has a problem with excessive payments, it's the surrounding leagues who inflate the worth of individuals.

It's the attitudes that are disturbing, the selling yourself to the highest bidder and me first, club last attitude that stinks a bit.

Cant have one without the other, unless stricter regulation is put in place.

For any new players or existing players who read this forum I wish to inform you that the Woodville South Football Club will begin their pre-season training tomorrow. Monday the 21st of November.

I would like to invite any possible new recruits or returning players to come join the boys as they put in the hard yards before what could possibly be one of the most important seasons in the clubs history.

Training will begin at 6 pm sharp at Ledger Reserve.

The cats are on the prowl in 2012.

They did finish on equal points with Haven who played in the 2nd semi in the Div above, so if they keep everyone on board, they'll be very hard to knock off.

carey wrote:So woodville south have won it then? excellent we know the premiers in november wont need to push the boys to hard then if were just playing for 2nd.

Oh we cant have that either that goes to Mawson lakes and all there money ;)

Then lockleys money, blackfriars recruiting everyone, TOS are tough to beat, Houghton win all there home games, CLG are going well SHOC coming up and Ingle Farm recruiting 3,914 new blokes we'll start preseason april the 4th i reckon

might join Deeman and play bowls just give up on the season now

or div 5 in 2011 was so very ordinary that predicting their 2012 performance based on their 2011 performance may be flawed :)

I have heard Central Uniteds new Gun Full Forward recruit from Peake can only play every 2nd week due to other commitments. Surely this will unsettle the line up and cause a rift in the team, would hate to be the one getting dropped everyweek. How could the coach allow this! :p
