This what is frustrating about Australian cricket at the moment our best: Perth last year, the 2nd session of day 2 (save when we batted in it) last test is fantastic cricket our worst: Sydney and Melbourne last year 3rd session of day 2 last test is grade cricket standard - D grade standard.

Our players are good enough but we lack that hard edged professionalism to maintain our consistency.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

The common theme i see is that we are great batsmen on roads and pitches where the ball doesnt do much. Our batters footwork is generally poor and we are hopeless when the ball is seaming. Maybe we need to produce more seaming pitches in Australia rather than roads like Adelaide and MCG

One of the most enjoyable sessions in a long, long time.

Unbelievable batting by Hughes and Watson, absolutely creaming fours everywhere. Hughes dominating square of the wicket, Watson dominating through the covers.

Pleasure to watch. 33 overs, 169 runs, 0 wickets, go Aussies!

The 174 run partnership between Hughes and Watson was

- 32nd highest Australian Opening partnership
- Equalled Shane Watson's highest Opening partnership
- Was 10 short of Hughes' highest Opening partnership
- The last time Australia's Opening partnership was higher (182 Watson/Katich Dec 09 v Pakistan)
