I went to the James Squire Ale Hoouse in Melb last week...twice. On the first visit i drank enough Golden Ale to top up the Yarra and on the second occasion i sampled a paddle which is a small cup of all 6 or 7 beers. All of them are of a high quality especially when mixed with the right food :D .

Also had a couple of days on the Fat Yaks on Tap as its fairly prevelant over there and found that to be also very very good.

Came home and had one of my home brews and it tasted just like West End draught, yep that Sh*t!

Why the hate for West End Draught?

Red tins go down so well on a hot day.

No hate here AD, love 'em, do prefer stubbies though.

You try the rest but you keep coming back to the best, West End Draught.

As the jingle used to go, "The best end of the day is the West End of the day"
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

One way to fix that. Get back on the horse.

Although one of my mates (Lockleys lad, coincidence with your supported teams) reckons if you can get on the red tins on a Sunday, you didn't drink enough the night before.

For those of you who want a challenge, I'm part way through the Beer Legends List at the Earl of Leicester Hotel at Parkside. Very enjoyable (and expensive) experience but mixing lagers, ales and stouts during the same session has been hard work. Will post a list of what I've gotten through so far when I can.

An excellent, excellent beer. One of the best beers on the planet. One mouthful of this nectar is enough to discredit all the jokes ever made about American beer.

I bought the 150 Lashes over this last week, but I know what I'll be picking up this week.

Agree Sierra Nevada is a good drop but at $80 a carton :? a little out of my price range.

Got a 6 pack of Coopers 62 this week. Didnt really ignite my taste buds in to a frenzy but is drinkable. Doesnt actually taste or have the familiar characteristics of the rest of the Coopers range IMO.

With all this talk of Sierra Nevada I had to stop at Dan Murphy's on the way home last night... Sunk a couple on the couch later in the evening. 8)

home brew

euro lager from coopers

been in a bottle just shy of 2 months

actually doesnt taste too bad for my first effort. just need to refine a couple of things and maybe add in some flavour enhancers to make it a little better, but its definately drinkable

I had a crack at some Pepperjack beer from the Barossa winemaker. Pretty nice also.
