On the Ingle Farm front, cant see how people can rate them just yet, a few recruits may help but they also need some depth going down the grades as well.

from what i've heard the overpaid WS group had to find a level where they could feature after round 18 eventually.

oi, mighty hounds, i haven't seen any response to the request to tell us who is leaving BOS. i'm interested to know.

Oi Sprint, bite me  Well Demasi and Blunt is no secret has they had knee recos I reckon. talk around the hood is that Hilman X2 are off plus one other is 50/50 8) Not getting promoted could be a killer blow to BOS. Its about time they started recruiting instead of reailing relying on mates to come out. IMO the club was lucky in 06-08 with the quaility of players it had during that time and now the decline has started.

If you think about it, they could have been playing finals in div 5 this year.

If they can keep and get some consistency from guys like Ramah and Timmy, plus their new recruits, they'll dominate.

Obviously it is only November but being new to the Div and not knowing too much about it I would probably think Woodville South, Lockleys, Blackfriars and Trinity to be the big 4 that the rest of us will be chasing at this stage of course. Am I way off the mark or...?

WS TOS BOS CUFC are the big 4 imo..rest of us making up numbers :)

The point is, is that it's all november talk...seriously, who knows what will happen in 2012.

CLG might go through undefeated ;)

no thanks. however, thanks for the info. you seem to have your finger on the pulse, well played. :)
not all luck in 06/07 mate, lots of hard work got that success. players didn't just fall out of the sky or sponsors etc etc.
since the club does not pay players logically recruiting avenues are limited. no doubt if cash was splashed it would be a different story.
players move on for their own reasons, the ones that stay are what the future of the club is built on.
since when did mates playing together become an unhealthy way of building a footy club ?
the killer blow was when you left

I really rated BoS this year. Hard team to beat. They had decent players all over the ground but their real strength was their tall/key forwards in Hiillman *2 and Demasi, If they are all gone.....BoS will be nowhere near the same force if they can't replace them.

When did I say mates playing together was unhealthy for a club? Totally not my point Sprint. It gets to a point where you need the quaility to keep progression through the divs. The club had it from those years but have failed to replaced what they have lost. This will be a big year for them

They lacked a ruckman in the end. Once Joey went over seas it was always going to be hard espc when you ahve to rotate your 2 best backman through there.

often i'm not sure what your point is mighty :?
how does a club compete in recruiting when they are not a position to pay or do not have a philosophy of paying? they are then left with mates or attracting a few outsiders which the club has done along the way.
there is no doubt we had the quality to move back up this year but in the end a turn of luck changed that in the QF and 2nd semi and Glenunga were bound to win at some point. now the test is who wants to be at the club and who wants to be somewhere else.
dont you worry about BOS mate, they'll kick on

Trust me I'm not worried. Sure they'll kick in but how well they kick on if those players leave will be worth looking at. You never pulled me up on the 50/50 player either ;). The point I was getting at is that they won't be top 4 like everyone is saying. Happy to be proven wrong

alot of money in the bowls mate
it costs me $3 a week just for my afternoon tea,but the old dears make the best sangas and the coffee is great and they tell me the beer is cold
you also get to see some of the greatest g string shots you would ever want to see but its by pure accident
but with the average age about 75 mate you are in for a chance
at least the contests are pretty even
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

It's funny, I was eavesdropping on a conversation in the gym today, as I tend to do when conversations turn to footy. A young lad, whom I know is an old scholar of a certain school in the area, was saying he was going to join in the Norwood preseason next week and that if he didn't make it he would just go to the hills league and chase money because they pay big bucks there.
