Cricket has lost me....

Postby gadj1976 » Tue Nov 15, 2011 7:19 pm

I watched the test match the other day and that just gave me the taste of cricket again for the upcoming summer, and all I wanted to do was watch some domestic cricket on the weekend. But after another weekend where I can't watch any domestic cricket on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, I'm done.

For me, the decision to NOT play domestic cricket on a Saturday (one dayers in particular) means that the sport is losing me.

Then I woke up Sunday morning only to find out that the Tas SA game wasn't telecast on Fox either. What's the caper, are they promoting this sport or not?

I think I'll stick to watching the horse racing - at least you know it'll be telecast on Fox.

Still not sure why Fox didnt show that game. On 2 of their FoxSports channels they were only showing replays of differant sport.
I emailed Foxtel to get an answer but havnt received a reply yet

The game was in Burnie so clearly the infrastructure to telecast a game was not there.

I think that's because the 1st Test between SA/Aus was scheduled to finish that day (Day 5).

I've never known Fox to televise a domestic game at the same time as an Australian match is on but I noticed in the schedule they're apparently showing a domestic one-dayer during the upcoming 2nd Test (Sunday D/N I think), so who knows.

I should add that cricket hasn't been on (domestic version) on a Saturday for at least a couple of years. My wife and I have both said to each other, "oh well another Saturday and no cricket on" in the past. Now we don't even bother mentioning it.

Then on Sunday, when the game was over in Burnie, there were no highlights on the news, but the second rate A league - we get highlights (if you can call it that - all 11 seconds) of every game played on the day.

All Ryobi cup matches should be free to air. Foxtel can eat a dick.

Cheers

It was until Kerry hopped off the twig. Then once James had control he pissed it off to Fox Sports. Used to enjoy watching them on Sundays.....

I stand corrected. Actually I did watch this game and was happy about having cricket on on a Saturday again.

The shield games don't count cos they aren't televised.

They had a sell-out, but they all got in on a family pass.
