Im not for it.....but I will leave it up to the club to make that decision.
I think it can backfire.
Come on Southee, think of the SAFC members weekend footy trip to the MCG!
Shouldn't cost too much to hire a Mini Bus in that case then?

The SANFL is yet to receive details on the 2012 competition but it is likely the top three clubs - who all rejected offers to play in the competition in 2011 - would again receive first bite at the cherry next year.
Woodville-West Torrens chief executive Chris Davies said the reigning SANFL premier did not have a "closed mindset" to the AFL run competition which pits state league clubs from across Australia against one another.

Sport is over saturated these days perhaps 30 years ago it may have been more a hit

The Eagles wont put at risk their title chances Im sure of that , but really no club who is fair dinkum should be stupid enough to think that into September it wont make a difference as we ran out of petrol tickets right on the marathon finish line , thats the proof right there ! Poxtel Cup or Premiership Cup ..... no choice really is there ?Sojourner wrote:Gozu wrote:NORWOOD and the Eagles will await more detail before deciding whether to play in the 2012 Foxtel Cup but Central has virtually ruled out playing.

Would be interesting to see how the SANFL Premiers would actually go against the Premiers of the WAFL and VFL, There would be little excuse to lose to Port Melbourne because their side has no AFL listed players at all unlike Williamstown.

Well one thing is certain... not having competed in it, removes any right you have to say you are the best... Williamstown went in it and beat everyone they came across... rightful national champions I reckon...
Otherwise, do we go back and remove "Champions of Australia" titles from everyone because "some" teams were given no chance to win it... or can I bestow that honour on Sturt a few times because the VFL champion wouldn't play us?

Winning the Champions of Australia games didn't make anyone the best team in the country. It meant you won the competition called the Champions of Australia competition. Similarly the winner, whether Centrals et all competed or not, wasn't automatically the best side in the country (outside the AFL of course), just the side that won the games that needed to be won. The SANFL premiers similarly aren't necessarily the best team either. But we don't compete the be the best team, we compete to be the winning team on GF day.

West and Port decide it did not help last season and choose not to play. North and South decide that their priority is to make Finals this year.........and noone wants to play?
