I think the editing has gone awry. Some of the summing up sentences have appeared as the first sentence of the next paragraph.

I think TTG and Dublin should go up to 5 and see if ATCO want to drop - that will give an 8 team comp
A Grade sides shouldn't be in a one day comp

Then have 6 & 7 redrawn based on current results, obviously those with two sides in these grades are exempted but some of the mis matches are getting as embarrassing as a Hills Country Football game

TTG could do well in grade 3 let alone grade 5 not sure on dublin never played them before....

Exactly right. I think any club wanting to play in the PDCA should have at least their A grade in the 2 day comp and be open to moving up and down the grades. The whole grading system is designed to have fair comps that allow sides that are dominating or struggling to find a grade they are competitive in. As it stands, TTG will win another flag and without struggling. Dublin are a handy side as well. Yet neither are going to be forced to go and play a higher grade. Meanwhile there are C and D grade sides battling away against these sides. It turns people off playing those comps.

TTG will win the flag in div 6 no problem at all they have a gun side even better than last season with the inclusion of dan black a very very good player he has played 5 games and averages 96 with the bat and his bowling is just as good so far 23 overs 9 wickets for 43 runs with a strike rate of 15.97 economy rate 1.82 average 4.78....

SW got up over Units by 2 runs today. 2 identical innings really.... Like SW the week before, Units were 2/84....then the collapse.

Hard game of cricket as we gave them everything we had with the ball and they ground it out well. We always felt we had a sniff if we broke the initial partnership.

Davies with 4 and McInnes with 3.

SW 1/80 odd in the second innings....Willie Sewell with 58no

We copped heaps of crap and we concquered today, we stuck it up pg chasing 359 we hit 427. Pg must be hurting after that! Jimmy Morris 120, Raed Hannun 118, Ray Bickle 50, Shane Rundle 48. Whoever was in doubt, take that. Im telling all of you we really copped shit but replied with the bat today. Well done SMITHY"S.

By the way, does anyone know if chasing down 359 is any sort of record in PDCA?

Well done to Smithfield on a great run chase but it looks like PG had the bookmaker offside. ;)

Craigmore won on a 1st innings result only after declaring with an 80 run lead. Salisbury North batted better in their 2nd dig to end up at 8/141.
Al Hewitt took another 2 wickets to end up with 10 for the match.
Next week sees the local derby against the young and explosive Parkers who would have to be favourites after their start to the season.

Settle down mate were both 3-0 we are playing well but apart from Riverside the opposition hasnt been great, and to be honest having faced some pretty ordinary attacks in the last couple of weeks isnt the ideal preparation to go into against Craigmore and a storming Al.

Either way will be a cracker game but both sides will realise premierships arent won in November.

Mate it should be a cracker of a game. Your bats are in form and keep making big scores against some pretty ordinary attacks as you call them. Al is in some good form and the other bowlers keep the pressure up at the other end. Craigmore batting hasn't hit any sort of decent form yet and maybe need a game against a form side to really click, I hope so. There will be some changes to the side for this week I would think with at least 1 player being available again.
Will be an interesting game to see where both sides sit.

wow! great chase smithfield, thats the biggest i have heard of well done.

great come back from westies too, just when it looks like they are going to lose they find something. 2 run loss has got to hurt the units but at least they know they can mix it with the big boys!

thanks to OTH for falling in a heap and ruining my all up! X(

If we had of bowled and fielded better last week, and Parafield Gardens didnt have as much luck as they did with the bat and balls flying off in all directions, we would have hammered them for sure. If anyone from an outside point of view had witnessed the two different batting innings, then Smithfield played far better batting strokes, Particularly James Morris. His cover drives of Lynchy were better than any i have ever seen, destroyed there attatck. Raed was his typical self, anything bad was smacked. Shaneo was unclucky to edge a ball into the air, and if Ray Bickle had an extra 10 overs it would have been 3 centuries i reckon. Excellent Effort by the boys, Confidence boost we really needed.

Great day of cricket, was a real buzz once we past their score after being told repeatedly last week how crap we are.
Chasing has never been a strong point at Smithfield but the tides have turned over the past few seasons with new heads and youth coming through.
I've been involved in some tragic run chases and collapses over the years so it made yesterday much more pleasing.
We were 1/83 at drinks after 18 with young Michael Taylor being run out earlier and looked in control, 3/171(35) at tea and cruised from there with Raed and Jimmy putting on a 214 run stand in 31 overs, Bickle came in at 8 and belted 53 in 9 overs.
It was a classic case of some of them counting their chickens too early, crickets an amazing game.
