Fair few changes for this weeks game, big shawn Mcgregor and James Neeson return to the side and div 3 medalist valor thach and grand final hero John boxer make their first appearances for the club!

Thats an impressive trio...
Johnny Boxhead moves like lightning and made the transition from Div 5 to Div 1 beautifully this year finishing runner up in the Div 1 medal. Im sure he can adjust to Gaelic just as easy. Gun player and a nice kid.
Shawn Mcgregor was impressive in the game i saw him and gives you boys a real aerial target with plenty of grunt. has played CHB in div 1 and will match up well on some of the comps big men.
Valor Thach as you mentioned won the div 3 medal and has one of the best vertical leaps in SAAFL. I interviewed him after he won the medal and he certainly does not lack confidence either.
I dont know much about that Neesing guy though. Is that Christians Dad?

Nah I reckon he was a singer back in the eighties?

Horse (horsnel) may also be gracing the fields (or galloping) if we can get him away from his topless promo gigs....

Im not doing tips myself this year but i am willing to predict that this weekends game will feature one huge boil over
It better bloody not be the Na Fianna v Mitcham game either. Just on that game i believe it will be Tommy Greenseas last game for the year for the Hawks if he has recovered from having his wisdom teeth out. Im certain that will motivate Mitcham to put in a big game for their spiritual leader. Good luck in Queensland TG

Some bias coming in here, but Port probably deserved to win last night... Taints keeper was very good, but Port stuffed up a few times very close to goal. Port were 4 points up at half time, and clearly had the best of the first half, but the Saints being the experienced team they are fought back and ensured that the points were shared.
IF Port played a full game like their first half last night, they will be competitive against all of the top 4 sides...big opporutnity missed this week.

Another couple of hop balls this week Wristy :P haha

12 scoring shots to 8 and a 6 point lead with less than 5 mins to play. It is fair to say that its the one that got away #-o . Port deff had plenty of chances to kill of the game but couldnt quite get the job done. In the end it was the leadership and experience of the "Polish Bull" Mike Zaluski charging from 45m to inspire the Saints to a draw with 2 late goals.
Good game of Gaelic with plenty of spirit and some hints of argy bargy without anyone going over board. St. Brendans are always going to be tough for any team and it could be said several of their usual play makers had pretty ordinary games last night. One thing for sure though is Port are a team on the rise and as someone predicted on this forum a little earlier ;) they will continue to improve, beat some highly fancied teams and create unexpected boil overs.

Looking forward to tomorrow's big game against undefeated WI! We have a few new and key players back, so should be a great game. Can't remember beating WI in a very long time, they will start favorites but think it will be a close one

We went down by about 5 or 6 points in the end. We wee up by 3 points at half time but WI were too fit and had too much run in the end. A great game was affected by a poor referee perforfsnce but in the end it wouldn't have influenced the result anyway. Well played WI

I didnt see the game but i know it would have been a very tough one to ref. I dont think its fair to criticize the ref too much as it is a very tough job and i threw him too the sharks giving him such a tough game when he still hasnt cracked double figures in games reffed. I have been instructed by the GAA head (I think his name is Jeremy Rowe  ) to give some big games to other refs and try and help them get up too Grade 1 standard.
A good indication of how tough it is ref is occasionally on the field you will hear me use the phrase " 100 times out of 100 i would have called that decision that way". I use this statement rarely but when i am completely certain that i am correct about a decision despite the fact that some players perceptions or lines of visions may have meant that they see a particular incident a different way. Even when i know i am right based on what i have seen and calling upon the experience of about 700 Gaelic games as a Ref, Coach, Player or official i still have players, spectators, coaches or even waterboys argue some decisions or rulings. I can only imagine and vaguely recall what it was like being a ref as a 20 year old and the pressure you feel on the ground with every decision.

WITHOUT REFS THERE IS NO GAME  I DONT THINK ITS FAIR TO CRITICIZE THEM ON THIS SITE.
