1st and 4th Innings?

Postby CoverKing » Fri Nov 11, 2011 3:00 am

Was today the first time in test history that all four innings were part of the same day of a test match? Amazing test match in SA at the moment

I have been watching Test Cricket for at least 40 years and cannot ever remember seeing a days play like todays.

I am sure Brod will be able to answer the question.

If Australia had held their catches in the 2nd Innings of S.A. goodness knows what might have happened

From Cricinfo;

"All four innings in a day:
This Test joined select company when both teams batted twice in a day, a feat that has occurred only twice in the previous 2015 Tests. The only other occasions were when India and New Zealand played out a thriller in rainy Hamilton in 2002, and when West Indies were blown away for 54 by England in 2000."

Steve Harmison 04/05 at Cape town scored 42.

Its happened 8 times in test matches, but Lyons score is the lowest of these top scores. Out of these 8 times, 3 have occured in Cape Town (In 1906,2005, and yesterday)
