No, they actually do, and have since 1993 when the AFL dissolved the Australian National Football Council, and took over control of the sport internationally in 2003 with the dissolution of the International Australian Football Council.

Despite achieving hegemony, and occasionally interfering with SANFL matters, the AFL still does not "control, manage or administer" the SANFL. The day that happens will be the day that I give it away.

Agree Pseudo, the start, if not already, will be the AFL reserves teams in the SANFL.

As most have said it wont effect us season ticket holders, however the reason we get the 5k+ crowds every now and then is the once or twice a year supporters who cant make it regularly due to grass roots footy, I wonder if those are the ones that might say no thanks in 2012.

I am one of these, and the price will make no difference to me as it is only once or twice a year. I do, however, baulk at paying $30 to go to the GF, luckily there is an abundance of freebies around.

Concessions apply.

On top of base membership the Eagles charge $15 dollars more than North for a home ticket and $30 more for a season ticket, that is a fair mark up as well (although North's base membership is $10 more than the Eagles, making the overall extra cost $5 and $20)

But the Eagles still offer better value for money! ;)

Phrase your complaint in terms of how the entry price is so high that you cannot afford to patronise the barbecue once you have entered the ground, and I promise I will leave you alone.

$10 is reasonable price for SANFL games. Will be interesting to see if crowds are impacted with the increases but perhaps will encourage more people to be members etc.

What will happen if Flares go up in price :D

We are simply paying for the Powers lack of $$$.
As pointed out previously by other posters, the % increase is unacceptable
Imagine running a business and continually handing your clients increases like that  I am sure you would be loosing them hand over fist.
P.S Salary Cap dropped a couple of years ago so it`s not as if clubs are paying more for players.

Bumping an old topic...

How have the attendances been this season? Has the price rise affected how many people are attending the SANFL? Perhaps the Crows success so far has also taken some people away from the SANFL? Or are crowd numbers still strong?

Good question Aerie. I'd be surprised if attendences have dropped this year especially with so much night footy, Good Friday game had about 3000 more than what would normally be at Noarlunga for a Sturt/South game with crap weather. Some real numbers would be interesting.

Is it true the price rise is due to Port Adelaide's bailouts ???
