surely it's in everyone's best interest to get as many people through the gate as possible? $14 is just getting to the point that some casual supporters will think twice about going.

Truly remarkable the conspiracy theories some people try and bring up against the AFL.

You do realise that it ( the AFL ) is here to stay and it does run football across the country? That 'aint going to change.

$14 or $16 isn't going to break anyone, but it will make some people think twice, especially when there is a game on tv. The SANFL shouldn't be making people think twice about going to the local league.

So Booney we accept the Victorian based AFL runs our SANFL comp, therefore all those that administer South Australian football at the SANFL namely Wicker, Chandler etc etc are there for what? The AFL has a powerful influence but it doesn't control, manage or administer football throughout Australia but they surely want to and it is their desire to control all aspects of our game that sporn conspiracy theories.

It basically does.

What the AFL does, via TV rights, is run the biggest football competiton in Australia and by default has the state leagues by the kahunas. Mate, I dont agree with it but thats a fact and it isn't going to change any time soon.

While the AFL drop feeds the SANFL and its biggest money spinners ( Port and Adelaide ) then the SANFL will do exactly as it is told.Like it or not.

Bad Move SANFL.

I now only go to Grandfinals.

As it stands at the minute the SANFL comp is the only thing that was a success in SA Footy, and with the need to prop up the AFL teams its an easy decision to put up the SANFL admission prices

As most have said it wont effect us season ticket holders, however the reason we get the 5k+ crowds every now and then is the once or twice a year supporters who cant make it regularly due to grass roots footy, I wonder if those are the ones that might say no thanks in 2012.

Agree on the catch 22 situation but the prices have gone steadily up in recent years which will start turning people away.....I blame Port

It has jumped dramatically I reckon. $8 TO $10 TO $12 TO $14 in probably a few years . Definately 10 to 14 quicklyy which is a fair price rise % wise.

We will all pay , even with season tickets . I will be registering my complaint as we all should otherwise it will continue. A bad mistake I think.

Why should our loyalty be punished ?

I recall attending the VFL in 2010 and paying $10 to get into a game at Victoria Park. I can clearly remember thinking its the same price back home......So its gone up $4 in 2 years

I'm sure it's been $12 for 2 years, IIRC it was $10 for 8 or 9 years

On top of base membership the Eagles charge $15 dollars more than North for a home ticket and $30 more for a season ticket, that is a fair mark up as well (although North's base membership is $10 more than the Eagles, making the overall extra cost $5 and $20)

Not a wise move, I already know a lot of people who now just go watch their mates play in the Amateur League.

No, they actually do, and have since 1993 when the AFL dissolved the Australian National Football Council, and took over control of the sport internationally in 2003 with the dissolution of the International Australian Football Council.
