good wrap up but i think rosies in div 7 deserved a mention 7/187 then bowled out craigmore for 37 with G.Bartlett 6/13 and D.Harris 4/23....

Hey mate, that wrap was for the Bunyip and focussed more on Gawler based teams. There has been lower grade info given to the Messenger but space probably prevents them from submitting it.

I'd update the score from our match but unfortunately the scorebook caught fire last night and is now ashes. Seriously, we didn't actually look at the final score for the day - we all knew it wasn't going to be pretty.
I will say though I have never batted on ice before but I reckon that oval is as close as I will ever get. The ball literally sped up once it hit the ground.
Ah well, looks like we have got a chase in front of us next week - should be fun

Not to mention the way the ball zig-zagged across the ground with all the divots. They have a soocer tournament on their each Friday night and it's tearing up the oval.
Even going down to field the ball text book style seen it either bounce over your head or take a late diversion around you, hopefully it's a dry week and it's the same next week.
We had no luck, countless inside edges going for 4, ball lobbing in between players, we only dropped two catches and one of them was only a half chance.
To their cedit they just didn't get out, if we bat for the 70 overs I'm sure 5 an over isn't too difficult, it was pretty small aswell.

Looking at the Rosies Vs Virginia game - the young offie playing for Rosies took a 5 fa and took three catches. I wonder if that performance will be good enough to gain some votes in Phantoms medal??

was just on the pdca mycricket site browsing through some scores from the weekend. just wondering if someone could clear something up for me;

Grade 3:
Angle Vale (192 all out from 38 overs) DEF BY Craigmore (8/100 from 32 overs)

how does this result work when craigmore arent all out, and havent reached angle vales score. surely neither team has won yet? how can angle vale have been defeated

Probably a mistake by one of the captains i would suggest. The game is still in progress and a result has not been reached as yet. However sportsbet are offering $1.01 about Angle vale and $51.00 for a Craigmore victory.

Al Hewitt 8 for 25 including a Hattrick. Bowled Salisbury North out for 74 and we are currently 3 for 70

Was a special day and a pleasure to be a part of Hewy's first ever Hat trick. A wicked spell of bowling to watch which resulted in him taking the first eight wickets of the match. A fair catch at 2nd slip from Dobbo as well to secure the Hat trick.
Just to clarify SUNS, Sals Nth managed only 79 all out in the end and we are 3/76 at stumps.

looks like there could be a few upsets this round (didn't see any of them coming!)

359 can't all be about how bad the field was? must have been some poor bowling in there too?

will be an epic run chase! has there been any big scores like this that have been chased down in recent times?

Last year in Round 2 at EP we chased down 302 against Atco on a rain effected day. Really built belief in alot of the young lads went a long way to the success we had last year.

Westies 2/88 and then lost 6/30 including 3/0 in that period. Units bowled ok but a runout, a goldie and some disrespectful batting cost Westies after a good start. Much work to be done next week but we'll back ourselves in.

Game on! I thought they were a very good fielding side though, definately their strength.. should be interesting..

Yep... Miles with a direct run out from the boundary....

Note to the boys - He's got a good arm !

yes but Oz its always hard to judge such an unknown quantity

8 players hitting tons yesterday. Must have been the heat. Stand and deliver. What is the most 100's scored in a round of pdca. This is the most that I can remember and it's only day one

big score but that ground is awesome to bat on. You can block 4's there. If any batters can get their eye in there you can really boost your average. The ball literally picks up pace as it rolls

It certainly did, the dude that made 170 looked all at seas early, he plays and awkward looking shot that goes straight into the ground and then kicks on through the covers, once he got a ton he was seeing it like a beachball and hit runs at will.
Obviously the bowling wasn't great, if you don't bowl to set fields you can't take wickets or restrict runs, there were a lot of mis-fields that resulted in boundaries, you couldn't even get shitty with the fielders, after having a go out there yourself you realized how unreadable the ground was.

Bit of both I think when it comes to slow bowling. 3x C&B, 1x Caught at slip and 1x stumping where the lad just dragged his back leg.
Still got hit for 3 fairly big 6s
All this in less than 6 overs, very entertaining stuff :P

I should mention that I have been fortunate enough this season to come on after bowlers such as Kenty have torn through the top order and rattled sides, the pressure is already on them when I come onto bowl. Kent is probably bowling the best he ever has this season.
