A snail mail will be sent to Channel Nine this week.
I intend to continue to push Ernie's barrow until something is achieved with this!!!!

I reckon go the Today Tonight and see if they think it is a story, an opportunity for them to sink the slipper into Channel 9 and the Footy Show.

Another angle is the whole issue of consent particularly given Ernies condition as a vulnerable person, same as showing kids images and needing permission. Something to explore and that might be the hook to get TT involved..
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Not sure about that am bays. If you are in a public place, your fair game. Don't think the commercial networks get permission to show people eating pies at the footy in ultra slow motion.

The other option could be "Sunrise". They would probably like the "feel good" nature of the story (ie. getting him a free tv). They would perhaps get Harvey Norman or Dick Smith to supply a free tv, they would probably do it for the free advertising.

At the same time ch7 would appreciate the opportunity to have a "dig" at ch9 and it wouldn't really be giving undue promotion to THE FOOTY SHOW as they wont be on air again for another 6 months.

After the email direct to Channel Nine and to Adelaide Tonight nothing eventuated.
Then personal letters sent to Garry Lyon, James Brayshaw, Sam Newman and Billy Brownless.
Today 3rd Nov my wife took a phone call at home from Sam Newman. I was out.
Sam expressed his agreement with my email and was sorry that he could not influence the winners on the way that they would use their win. He did agree that a courtesy of some gift to Ernie would be quite appropriate.
Sam has risen significantly in my estimation. At least he has responded

Lucky Sam didn't call personally to your address if your were out and the wife was home alone!

Seriously - Sam is much "maligned" at times and often unfairly and people would be surprised as to his "off camera" generosity and this goes to show he is not as bad as he portrays himself to be re being a clown, joker and paying out on on certain "social types" within society.

Maybe something will happen on The Footy Show next season? Sam calling is pretty cool, be has a bad rep (all because of his on-air persona) but is a very generous man in "real life".

If an account gets set up as per Fester's suggestion i'll chuck a few bucks in and I'm sure there'll be a few others. A small/medium generic flatscreen doesn't cost much at this exchange rate, I'm sure we could get some momentum going

Sam has once been on the bones of his behind after his playing days finished. If it wasn't for certain people offering help he would not be where he is today in his role as a commentator and entertainer.

Ernie is OK. On Saturday a brand new LG HD flat screen TV is being delivered and installed for Ernie.
This replaces the small old analogue unit he currently uses.
This gift to Ernie has been supplied by the winners of the "Almost Footy Legends" video segment.
So persistence and follow up has been successful
