Nope - parents deemed it too dangerous

I grew up in Australia and therefore didn't trick treat.

The Melbourne Cup.

If I'm selling someone a telly when the race is on, every year they tell me to shut up so they can watch the two minutes of racing, and expect me not to lose my train of thought.

Bastards, I hate the bloody thing!

I'm not a fan of the Melbourne Cup either, or more particularly, horse racing in general. Holds about as much interest for me as what cycling/Tour Down Under does, and thats pretty much zero.

Don't particularly care that much for it, although its the Spring Carnival that annoys me the most with all the coverage in the media. Mid October til mid November is by far the most boring period of sport for me, personally. End of footy season, no test matches yet, and AFL draft hasn't come around yet either.

No door to open and sweep it out?

Then you've got the problem with the water.

A fellow apprenctice throwing a piece of hot ceramic at me while I was confined space spotting yesterday, hitting me in the left side neck out of me, surprising the f**k out of me and causing me to suffer second degree burns, luckily they're only smallish. It f**king killed and took a decent amount of skin off. It's fine now though, it's healed very well.

What also sh!ts me is that it happened about 2:50, we finish at 3:30 so by the time I rushed into the toliet to splash water on the burn, go out to find our leading hand and then supervisor to explain that I have suffered an injury, go down to our onsite medical to get it treated (which happens to close at 3:10), go back to see our supervisor so he could take me to the Gilman medical centre to be treated then go back to work, I finally got home at 5:15. It caused so much f**cking around, I usually get home at 3:45. Got paid overtime though. :)

As for the guy who threw it, he didn't show up to work today. He will be delt with by all the bosses but I don't want to see him get the sack or anything, he is a good mate who I've known since Primary school and we've always been battling it out against each other for kicks, both got detention in Science in year 10 for wrestling and fighting in the classroom while the teacher left the room.

Agreed. He has to go, that's unacceptable. He could have caused a really serious injury. He's not messing around in high school anymore this is real life.

You can't mess around with workplace safety. He'll learn a lesson hopefully and get another apprenticeship.

Sacked. He's actually broken the law in doing that section 21 (1a) of the OHS&W Act where he has endangered a fellow employees safety. In Victoria he could be up for a $200 000 fine, here its is only a Division 6 fine ~ $20 000 IIRC. If I was his boss I'd sack him beacuse his actions have put the company at risk of breaking the law too.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
