The best part of that whole article was "Channel 7 to do the Grand Final"

The five minute warning should stay. Just adds to the drama of a close game. Channel 7 do it horribly.

I think Blight mentioned a little while back that that would be the end of his commentary days. We can only hope thats correct.

They join current commentators Dennis Cometti, Bruce McAvaney, Leigh Matthews, Tim Watson, Tom Harley and Matthew Richardson.

Good on channel 7 for getting Malthouse, Ling and Kirk onboard. I look forward to hearing them along with Matthews, Watson, Harley and Richo with their comments during a game.

I'm with you. You don't generally no how long there is to go when you are at the game and that adds to the suspense. How good was the finish of the Sydney vs WCE Grand final when the game seemingly went on forever whereas the last 10 seconds or so of the drawn Grand Final of 2009 was just so flat once the ball went out of bounds on the wing. Going way back I would say the same about the 1989 Grand Final. Once Hawthorn forced another bounce after Geelong's last goal their victory was inevitable. It would not have been for us watching if we had the channel ten method.
