I am not from amateur league but none of these team apart from maybe morphy vale, also mt gambier as i dont know alot about that league would not get within 10 goals of any div 1 side.

maybe no country side would get close to the goodwood saints or a top tier A1 club.
on the other hand i wouldnt put willunga or langhorne creek that far off.
you need to have seen these sides play a bit to judge that they cant play and that they are shit.

Goodwood Saints are not that good, div 1 is great footy however there are a few country sides travelling well including Lofty, Jervois, Willunga, Langhorne, Morph Vale, Lucindale, Keith, Western Border top 3/4 very good also.
We need a new carnival for Team of SA
GF Teams from every league in SA and SAAFL Div 1 & 2 play off in a round robin weekend (possibly October Long Weekend) to be crowned SA TEAM/Club of the Year.
This might work seeing as though a lot of players will play for club pride before they play for association teams...

The rest of the teams would not get within 10goals, I know only trial games but Lofty struggles against shoc a div 2 team. Jervois who i have seen abit over last few years would stuggle with fitness again a div 1 team.

No worries mate. I know it would only be 2 at most from the Mount as even in that comp they stand out and beat some of the other WBFL teams quite easily.

Keep off the mushrooms mate unless you have played in the GSFL dont comment.I have seen some pretty crap footy in the SFL ,I will tell you that Willunga and Langhornes would be competitive in Div 1 amatuers and their reserves would push the bottom 4 Agrade sides in the SFLthe_big_bang wrote:no i'm not a dis gruntled guy who couldnt cut it in the GSFL. i'm not claiming to be a star either,as a matter of fact, i dont mind telling you i only play B-grade in southern league.i'm just your average guy that wants to have a kick and a catch with my mates then have a beer afterwards. i have watched a lot of GSFL, specially willunga and myponga.and i seriously dont believe willunga would nearly match a top tier A1 side.i'll admit, i've watched games where it looks like they'd match it with some league sides! but more often than not, they look like they'd only be a middle-of-the-ladder in Southern or A1's.

Morphett Vale (Arguably the strongest club in the state outside of the SAAFL,also the biggest suburb in Adelaide)
Reynella (The only team to beat Morphett Vale over the past 12 months and you should see their local derby, good footy)
Goodwood Saints (Premiers in the best local league in South Australia)
Barrossa Districts (Strong club in a strong league)
Happy Valley (Have not been a force for a few years, but always a flag threat and the most feared guernsey in the SFL)
Loxton North (Best and strongest club in the RFL,always knocking of sides from better leagues in trials)
Encounter Bay (With mods at full forward and Adam Heuskus they traditionally the strongest club in the gsfl)
Blackwood (Feild 4 competative senior sides in both Hills country and Hills Central)
may have missed a couple that people will dis-agree with,im going with the best sides year in/year out in the best leagues in SA

REPORT: Peter Argent
The Yorke Peninsula Football League’s representative jumper will now be taken out of mothballs and used in 2007. After the clubs voted for an end to association level football at last year’s AGM, the league has found a new concept for football on this stage.
They will play in the Landmark Cup at Snowtown Oval, on the Saturday of the June long weekend—June 9—against neighbouring associations, the Adelaide Plains, North East and Northern Areas.
This should be a good sounding board for these 4 comps, it would be interesting to see if other leagues want to do a similar thing.
