2012 AFL Draw

Postby Jim05 » Fri Oct 28, 2011 6:37 am

The 2012 AFL Draw will be released today.
Early reports suggest the Crows will be the big winners. Have heard they will play GC and GWS twice. I thought the AFL said they wouldnt allow any side to play these two teams twice

It isn't possible to not have a team play them twice.

Makes no sense, why are the Crows apparently playing both of the new entrants twice, Port is playing neither twice. At least thats the speculation.

I remember the AFL stated that if you play GWS twice you would only play GC once and vice versa.

What a joke, Get both GC and GWS twice.

Hawthorn, Collingwood, WCE (@ Adelaide) once.

Fremantle have done well too.

Richmond, Melbourne, Adelaide, Port Adelaide and West Coast twice.

Not as good as the Crows, but I'd take that.

The Crows should be aiming top 4 with that draw .
Get to play the 3 worst sides for a total of 6 games in effect giving them a 12 points plus % headstart on my club.
Wow!

And we have to wait till Round 4 to unfurl our flag despite last getting the opportunity to do it in a round 1 match in1953! :?

Its rubbish.

Imho whether it be AFL or SANFL if you win the premiership you should automatically be given the right of having your first game the next season at home to unvail the premiership flag.

Geelong should protest by not winning the flag this year

We do every year otherwise we'd have 5 in a row! ;)

Looks like a reasonable FIXture from a St K point of view. Avoid playing a finalist from last year until Round 6 (no excuse for a poor start next year) and don’t double up against any of the top 4. Have 9 “6 day breaks” though.

Two games in Adelaide which I’m happy about!

In a sign of the times, do not play a traditional Saturday arvo game until Round 20

Adelaide has a ripping draw again for the 3rd year in a row. Problem has been that we've been too shit to make the most of it though.

Backing us to make a recovery this coming season. New coach and coaching panel, new attitude, soft draw - get us back in the 8 lads!

Richmond double up against Freo, Melbourne, Calrton, Port and Essendon

We have four "6 day breaks", which is a good result. However, we have back to back 6 day breaks from rounds 20-22 and one of those is backing up from the West. If we are to make the finals (a big IF i know), we will need the 8 day break come round 23 thats for sure.
