Hayes back to Westies so what does that mean? Pat Hynes out of retirement next?

What is the general feeling from the Centrals and Westies players/supporters about there new coaching appointments?

I have heard of mixed re-actions from a few at the Hawks nest.
I get the feeling South and Southies in general are extremely happy with Boofs appointment. Great bloke and well respected.

Some people not Rays mates say Blimmy was ripped off but evryone saw it coming.
What about Centrals Coming Home? Did Reddo go for it or not.

he is the other hard luck story of the coaching appointments. funny how west people say how ray wrecks footy clubs yet re-appoint him.

Having spoken to him Blim ain't a happy camper, and with his best mates being at the bloods wouldn't be surprised to see a great club man change his stripes.

Close, I believe Boof has asked Pat to be his right hand man and assistant coach this year.
Now that all of the coaches have been appointed, silly season is surely about to start with player movements

solo wrote:so your argument is also two-fold you say souths will lose him as a player and a coach, welll you have just said players can be replaced.
also do a little bit more homework b4 you make some big calls - do you pack up and leave when you dont get something you want? if you walked everytime you dont get your own way in everyday life you wouldnt be left with much

yeah i know players are easilly replaced, especially with the coin that gets thrown around... good coaches are not easilly replaced thats what im getting at...

the big calls you speak off are just my opinion. just an outsider looking in... finally if i was in strucky's shoes i would pack my bags and go someone else... i think it makes things difficult with a new coach coming in. Again this is just my opinion...

I suspect Sollies might raid Southern Flinders and/or Crystal Brook with an open cheque book.
Anyone know what Bobby Boston will do in 2012?

Congrats to Dicko on getting bloods job, will be the welcome change the players were craving for. He knows the players with their strength and weaknesses and from what i hear the players have respect for him and what he can bring to the club and the team. Unfortunately someone missed out at the bloods as well. Cam Redden is a great coach that probably missed out due Dicko having a recent background with the current players and maybe his work situation was a factor.

I feel for Blimmy as he is also a great coach that has been left high and Dry by his club. Ive spoken to 3 west players since hearing of Rays appointment and none were happy. They have heared the stories from the Bloods players and his (don't care a F$#@) attitude to his players. One thing im tipping is West will not have the same team in 2012 as Ray will think he cant win a Premiership without major recruitment. This poses the question good coach or good recruiter? Only 2012 will show. In my opinion the 2011 Westies Version is good enough and he does not need anything more to get results, if he is, as they say a good coach.

Any young Westies players who don't want to play for Ray Hayes should ask their dads or uncles about just how good a coach he really is. No BS. No girlie favourites. No time for blokes with broken eyelashes. This isn't the era of Paul Willie or Deon Tansell or Jonas Varcoe who could carry a side. The purple and white need to get in behind the Commodore salesman and do some fancy stuff on the paddock between April and September - or take up lawn bowls!

Yeah I have. But I can't see it happening. Boston is a top bloke but his style went out with leather sprigs

Mate when did it become mandatory to have played any games under any coach to be able to commentate on the job they are doing?
I just look at stats and talk to players and their families. I also go to games every week and play golf with blokes who are in the mix. Mmm - I was also about five metres away from Madigan medallist Chris Siviour when he broke his arm against Ports in round 8 1996. Jamie Crocker will vouch for that

Well Im confused. How did a 1996 piece of irrelevant trivia come into play here?? .
Stats say Steven Bradbury was the best speed skater in the world too... and if you played golf with his mates they would tell you that too.Doesnt make it right though. You would have to be involved to know wouldnt you??

=)) . Dont think Im the one that needs relaxation advice am I! What are you inhaling through that mouthpiece in your picture? I wasnt having a major crack at you mate, just a bit baffled about the relevance of the mid 90's to a conversation about Ray Hayes who wasnt even involved in the SGL during that period. Not sure your examples of players who carried West helped your recent SGL cred cause either but Im more of a reader than a poster so I can sit back and cruise ( and enjoy it!)

yeah no worries mate! Its all good hey. Where would we be without scuttlebut? I'm pretty close to SGL, NAFA, NEFL, APFL and a bit of Whyalla footy only through years of involvemet in sport stuff north of Adelaide. I've \been known to drink with Serge Harmer, Steven Lynch (always seem to have dents in my cars), Pat Hynes, Noogs, Gerard at the pub and even when he ran the video store, Booga at Woolies, Damien Prentice at the gaol, I could go on.
