Yes i can see where you are heading but i think ben browns ability is big. He is a district cricketer and he would be in good nick dont worry about that. He is all class. Selectors would look like fools if they did not pick him.

I'd hope the selectors pick on form rather than reputation.

mate this blokes a district cricketer who has not had the chance to play a game because of the weather. Probably the best bowler in port pirie. Pretty hard to pick a form side when there has hardly been a game.

Ben Brown would be my first choice as the opening bowler, when you have a good think about it theres not alot to pick from at this stage. Reece Fowler has started the year well and deserves a crack as does young Brookesy from Wanderah. Takka hasnt played a game so you can rule him out. The pine boys tend to bowl a bit short and Whyallas top order dont mind swinging the willow so either of them would be very risky. If Thornton is available he will be in as he has some good combined games under his belt. Whyallas deck tends to be a good 1 for spinners so i wouldnt be suprised to see a second 1 added to support S. Fuchs. As for Seidel, Twigden and Williams, probably not up to it.

I think you can only pick one of Fowler and Brooke as they are both young and both could be hit around a bit.

Rob Anderson would have to get a mention, as would Gillette if he is playing this year.

If you play two spinners who do you pick as the 2nd spinner?

i totally agree with only picking 1 of Fowler or Brookes, which Fowler probably gets the nod with his form a tad better. But saying that Cody bats a bit better so tough call. My appoligies also as i didn't take into account Carmody the opening batsman is also a very handy offspin bowler so theres your support for Simon. If Carmody is overlooked I guess Bradley is the only other spin option who could also be handy coming in to bat late in the innings, but Carmody for me. And yes if Gillette is fit and available he is in. Who are our towns top 7 batsman?

That leaves 4 spots for the bowlers.

R.Gillette
R.Fowler
B.Brown
J.Pavlich

And for those of you who didn't know in a combined game the 12th man also plays so L.Warwick bats and R.Fowler bowls. (basically Warwick bats for Reece)

I would play Brooke in front of Fowler only for the batting as I think they are similar bowlers.

Maybe we should apply to be selectors....it's not a job that can be done by one man as it currently is.

I would play Brad Pine ahead of Brooke or Fowler.
I would play Brad Pine, Rob Anderson, Cam Pine, Jarrad Adams, Zac Hutchinson ahead of James Pavlich.
Given that they are yet to play a match this year, if Pavlich or Brown are picked ahead of the Grewar medallist Brad Pine, I "dought" whether Risdon would be very impressed.
