dont care what anyone says . you wear white LONG PANTS.....or dont play . simple really.
would have thought you guys wouldnt let them bowl in shorts either ?...either way mate, they are an absolute joke to div 1 .
not just saying it cause they beat us . anyone can win a game of cricket but it takes a little bit of etticate (exscuse spelling) to win a good game.....that is all.....

You wouldn't be playing Seaton if someone was not wearing shorts

As for bowling, pretty sure you can in shorts, but they have to be white. But at the same time I don't understand if your not a fill in, why you would not have long pants.

I must admit, the sides I have seen so far, Enfield, Rose Park the uniforms have been pretty good and good to see most players wearing them.

mate, we are div 1 ....... wearing shorts is crap....
if you bowl in shorts I am going to run down the pitch and smash the ball while you still have hold of it.....
buy some pants or if you are from SEATON steal some.......

Dutchy the general idea is to put the cricket ball on the pitch :o :p

...maybe someone buggered up the scorebook and the match report(er) had to find some extra runs?

Type- i wish this was the case but infact there was 13 wides although it must be said 1 went for 4 and 3 of them were called outside off stump that were clearly on the pitch but cause the batsmen was backing away he called them wides!

The last line was very amusing Smasha, but I fully agree mate! ;) It's just a complete disregard & lack of respect for the game of cricket itself, let alone the competition.

You wanna play in shorts, sure, go & play Z Grade somewhere or have a hit in the nets on a Sunday arvo with ya mates! Wearing long white strides should be compulsory & should be enforced by the Association. That is just a joke, which reflects on the Club, and unfortunately, completely undermines the integrity of what's left of our Association.

Sure black soles on shoes is a little silly (unless they left marks on matting or something - I know some indoor centres had similar rules for that reason), but it's just about respecting the competition and association. Sure we are social cricket - but it aint beach cricket, so wear long white pants (and wearing tops that don't have random logos covering 1/3 of the shirt/are not actually white would be great as well).

Still have to give them some credit, atleast they are happy to play in the div they belong in instead of chasing easy flags - which is more than could be said for a certain div3 team.... I heard they had some specialist tactical advice during the week from a Mr M Asif, Mr M Amir and a Mr S Butt...

Fair call mate. But still no excuse for allowing bogans to play Div 1 in shorts. My ol' man used to say, "Even if you're not one, at least LOOK like a cricketer!". ;) And from what I've seen in the past from the individual concerned, he could do far worse than take that advice onboard.

Now it seems on Sunday that if Para Vista lose to Seaton, and Rose Park lose to NEK, we'll have Seaton and NEK playing each other in the Sunday final of T20 cricket. :-? That could be worth watching ;)
