Nobody cares about your little showdowns. Bite the bullett and merge the Adelaide Football Corporation and the failed 'Port' Power experiment. Welcome to the league a new Powerhouse..the Adelaide Power.
This combined team would pack em at footy park every second week. They would be a pretty fair side too. Think of all the duds that could be rightfully given the arse for the betterment of SA football. Sando the Geelong legend is clearly the coach so bye bye Matty. You could get rid of all those dodgy fringe players from the Cows and Power and have a real football side that really is for all South Australians.
Keep the Adelaide name and piss off anything to do with Port Adelaide. That hasn't worked and can't continue to work. Can't base an AFL team on an SANFL entity BUZZZ. Keep the Power name though because it is well known that Crows are carrion birds...might as well have called the Crows the Vultures..the very bottom of the pecking order when it comes to bird species. Hawks and Eagles hunt and kill their own but Crows just fly down and feast on the road kill.
Keep the Adelaide colours..state colours...state based side...the team for all South Australians. So put away the knives and hatchets, roll up the sleeves and do what South Australians do best...get together and stick it up the Vics. You know you want to. Go Adelaide Power!

We actually don't need the 2 local clubs to be sustained JUST by this state alone so this argument about "can we sustain 2 clubs" I think is irrelevant. It's whether the AFL as a whole can sustain 18 teams and if it ever gets to the day that it can't then you need to look at the poorer performing clubs. Unless that day ever comes though it's status quo. In fact, in all likelihood we'll be at 20 teams within the next 20 years.

I know, but just 7 short years ago the two local teams had won 3 of the previous 8 premierships. Now 7 years is still 7 years and Port are in a bad way right now I accept but if we culled every team that fell into a bad hole how many teams would we have left?
I say this with due respect to those clubs that rarely seem to fall in a hole like your beloved Cats for example. What a great example of how to keep competitive over a long period time. Yes, it's possible and Geelong are the blueprint.
