anyone able to answer this as I would be interested to know what won it for them? DW, big Phil, you blokes are in that industry....

To nominate for an SANFL Media Award in the radio category, you had to submit 3 x 5 minutes samples of your work.

I can't answer what pieces 5AA submitted and won with but I'd suggest it would have been a couple of things from their Sunday Night SANFL Show and maybe a snippet of calling from the finals?

Most people think it's judged throughout the year and their contribution is monitored however as you say DW , it's what is submitted.

While we're talking about SANFL media and, in particular radio, I'm personally pumped to be back in wavelength of radio coverage of the competition and look forward to listening to whoever's covering a Dogs game of a weekend. It's a small thing but when you're at home with the family, it's nice to have the footy on in the background.

Correct.

One main difference this year from the last couple of years is the reduction of categories by combining 2 or 3 of them into one.

From where I sit, the awards are for "Best TV COVERAGE" and "Best Radio COVERAGE". To me, that means overall coverage of the game, not a 5 minute snippet out of 6 months. It akin to awarding a club B&F on who can provide the best 15 seconds highlights package.

Thanks for explaining how the awards are judged, I just can't agree with the criteria.
