Senior Liberals have failed to publicly rebuke young guns who called state leader Isobel Redmond as "totally useless".

The Advertiser yesterday revealed three prominent Young Liberal Movement members used Facebook to smear her leadership just hours after the party's annual general meeting at the weekend.

Ms Redmond yesterday said she would not "try to control what anyone says on social media" and the trio didn't "speak for the younger generation".

Fair enough I reckon...

Yes correct maybe federal government and JULIAR should follow her actions.

I won't get into the arguments for and against gay marriage, personally I don't have a strong opinion either way, but how ridiculous is it for Rann to make his opinion known on the subject less than 2 weeks before he's going to be replaced as Premier :?

Death bed conversion or just trying to get Farrell & his SDA zombies back for knifing him? Perhaps killing two birds with one stone.

For once, we agree Gozu

He's just jumping (on) the bandwagon - had plenty of time to make a statement beforehand

Mike Rann's capitulation to BHP:

Ever since the SA premier began spruiking the mining boom in 2005, BHP has held the cards in negotiations. South Australia’s economy was desperate for the money and the activity; Rann wanted the political capital and BHP had time on its hands.

Yesterday, he flew to another state capital to give a global mining giant freehold title to the state’s biggest asset.

The estimated mining royalties for South Australia ($350 million) from the “world’s biggest mine in human history” are around one tenth of what Western Australia pulls every year from iron ore.

Whoopee.

ANTI-ABORTION pamphlets published by MP Ann Bressington have come under fire for misleading information.

Ms Bressington said she was funding the printing of 120,000 anti-abortion pamphlets to be distributed by a group who had contacted her office concerned about the practice of abortion in South Australia.

The pamphlets contain graphic descriptions of abortion procedures and include a photograph of a dead foetus.

Ms Bressington's campaign comes as staff at the Pregnancy Advisory Centre face a 40-day vigil of protesters outside the Woodville clinic, which is understood to have unsettled staff and clients.

The end of an era in South Australia today, as Mike Rann steps down as Premier. The third longest serving Premier ever in SA, and the longest serving state ALP leader in SA. Disappointing to think that many of his achievements - and there were also plenty of mistakes, too - will be overshadowed by the Michelle Chantelois issue.

He only has himself to blame.

I think his huge popularity in the early years meant he thought he was invincible and he thought he could do what he wanted.

Add the fact that the opposition couldn't find anyone worth voting for.

I am sitting here in wonderment again!
That Rann sees Roxby as one of his greatest accomplishments and yet way back at the start, and he was there then, he voted against and hated the idea!

I've always thought Rann was as politically expedient as what Keating was.

Don't worry, Rann will never be far from our memories, every time you open your water and power bills the memories will come flooding back. He will be remembered for the out-of-control cost of living increases in this state which all occurred under his watch. Not to mention his 'flirtatious' relationship with Michelle. As far as I'm concerned he gets off lightly by being pushed from the premiership.
