The Taints up to their usual pre-Christmas tricks - utterly decimated for round 1 due to footy trips, soccer presentation nights, and overseas travel! Could struggle to get enough points on the board against Irish - especially if that man DOECKE starts sizzling left foot goal-ski's like he did at State championships.

Tips
Shonkas 6-10
Taints 1-5
Mountaingoats 6-10
Flinders 11-15

Onkas v Na Fianna - Onka's by 1-5, Na Fianna without Jolly & it's too early for Na Fianna to start playing there best football ;)
Taints v IA - Taints by 6-10, another team with footy trip outs, but should still account for the Irish Doeckes
WI v Port - WI by 6-10, expect improvement out of Port Districts. And Ports have had a trial match.
Flinders v Mitcham - Flinders 11-15, Flinders unbackable favorites for the Hannigan ;) . Flinders will be prepared for Mitcham, having had the biggest pre season in SA gaelic history.

The 7s comp will start on WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 2 with games starting at 6.45.

At this stage we have 7 teams registered for the sparkling social sevens comp and are still waiting on last years top 3 to put their regos/nomination in. So its very much looking like we will return to the 2 pitch format with games being at 6.45, 7.45 and 8.45. Teams will be notified of there game time prior to the opening night and the seasons draw will be available online or at the bar at the newly renovated St Marys soon after the season starts.

My source tells me that Western Ireland have recruited in 3 Irishmen for the upcoming season. They are also reported to have done well out of the minors team from the last championships. So expect the purple and green love machine to maintain there form this season.

Hard to say atm...no Irish recruits like every other team has... there has been a few players not wanting to play this year (mostly the SMOSH players), but have had a few guys put their hand up who havn't played put their hand up...

A lot of the guys who played last year are continuing on, so hopefully we can build on last year with most of the team having played a few games now, which wasn't the case last season.

We have training tomorrow night, so won't know the team until then, but im expecting the side to look alright. May take a few weeks for the new guys to catch on, but they showed good signs in the trial v Minors, so hopefully wont take them too long.

Milky bar kid.....you talk crap mentioning our "biggest pre season in Sa Gaelic history"....we have played 2 trial matches and have not trained once....how long have you guys been training for now??

If you had any idea of the amount of work we have done on the past 5 years to get flinders to where it is now with a strong men's team, a sevens minors and men's team and a women's team you might appreciate that we are doing everything in our power to hopefully bring home the Hannigan cup for the first time in 20 years. Your cheap shots don't go unnoticed....
