Risdon were still missing their captain, a former Grewer Medalist and their best bat from last season. Plenty of players around which is causing some competition for spots which the club has not experienced for many years, only going to result in stronger teams in both grades. Playing Wandies is the big test against genuine pace, a good performance here could be the start of a succesful season for the Tigers.

On the ball front I believe Ports sponsored the balls this week but Props refused to use the sponsored ball for what reason I am not sure. How can you turn down a free ball? Seriously they are $70 a piece. Strange move from a club that apparently has no money....

Ill start off by saying this bigmouth not 1 person in your side would worry me one little bit because apart from nath jeffries yous are all pretty ordinary people who would not have a heart between the lot of ys! Now i dont know what holly said at the clubrooms friday night but why dont you go ask him? Im guessing he may have been having a joke with cornflour or somebody like that. The B grade umpire obviously made the wrong decision last week or did he make the correct one and the A grade umpire make the incorrect 1? I dont know. As for Pirie west i also dont know but im sure your club would be aware of what is available if things like this happen? The question was asked earlier but none have you have answered was there a member of the ppca exec at the ground at all today or last week and what did they have to say? I also note the A grade game went to complex 1 but also deemed it to wet so i would say the correct call was made this morning or was the A grade umpire wrong? you tell us knowall.

How was golf this morning straight talker?

Great win by Risdon this afternoon, beating last years premiers in a thrilling finish. Great for the club to win the shield for the first time in many many years. Was good to see some cricket played in good spirit.

dont know how straight talkers round of golf went but mine was good, the course was lovely and dry and the draught tins were chilled. lovely day with no whinging risdon cricketers to be found anywhere.

yes i forgot that these two clubs play for a shield in october! i would have considered the premiership the most important one and the only one all clubs are striving to win. But yes i was wrong. congratulations to risdon.

An interesting round of cricket indeed this weekend.

Risdon confirmed their status as legitimate contenders for the A grade this year, with an impressive victory over props and a few guns (i didnt see guys like twiggy and hutchy play) to come back in. It was good to witness the thrilling finish and despite 2 VERY bad LBW calls risdon showed great character.

On the B-grade front great to see the teams who defied the conditions and made cricket the true winner. Hats off to Props, strykers, warnertown and germein for doing what many want to do and play cricket. Im dissapointed with Sollies and risdon not being able to play the grandfinal re-match. From my understanding risdon were keen, after playing in worse conditions the week before, and im dissapointed sollies were more worried about getting points and not enjoying a game of cricket. If props and strykers can play in the exact same conditions on the only 50 metres away it ca only have been a tactical decision not to play. well done to the umpires of both games that played in making cricket the winner.

Im sad to say ive been equally as dissapointed with south-port A grade in their lack of intent to test themselves against the other team, no disrespect to sollies but if were were playing them instead of props last week they would have played.

Bearded wonder this is my only account. I dot feel the need to justify this to you as i know for a fact there are at least half a dozen other users i know of and so really you have no idea whats going on. I will not resort to childish and adolescent name-calling and simply say i speak my opinions. Firstly i have had the privilage of playing at port oval since junior days and believe it is a fantastic ground for cricket and i would gladly play there every single week. Secondly By ports do you mean wandies or the football team as i have no Aussie rules aligment in pirie. If you mean wandies, i dont hate them at all just share a great rivalry. Thirdly i dont hate south-port, the comp would be better if they were more willing to play and become a stronger side.
