Well done Eagles WAAAAAYYYYYYY to good on the day! Parry, Lewis, Powell killed us through the middle and our defence was always going to be undersized so we couldnt afford the Eagles to get so many inside fifties. In hindsight i have no doubt Lairdy would bring in Reichart instead of Dunne but before the game i thought he had made the right move.

Hard to judge crowd ratios especially considering the Premiers bar was packed with Dogs supporters while the game was on who were watching both the football and bathurst. Either way that was a reasonable crowd and Eagle supporters were there in good voice and colour.

Real weird feeling yesterday, speaking to alot of Dog supporters and myself included they didnt suffer from the pre match nerves at all (not because we thought we would win easily, just because) and the Premiers Bar before the game was very subdude. Got the impression alot of people were there just for the sake of being there.

Only lowlight of the day was the ex eagles player who decided spitting from the corporate box onto the Central fans below was a great way to celebrate the win. Was a very lucky boy people couldnt get up to where he was, would be interested to know what action the police took as they were speaking to him about it.

Anyways CONGRATULATIONS EAGLES!

Name and Shame , go on you can do it !!

although i do not support either team that played yesterday i thought it was a great game to watch as i always had the feeling the Dogs would come back, congrats to Eagles, 1 thing i did find a touch strange was Parry getting the medal thought there were many better players more influencial than Parry even thought young Redden was the Better ruckman out of the 2, thought Powell was very stiff as i feel he set the game up with his intensity early.

Every club has them! No different than the couple of Centrals supporters in 2007 who spat and threw coins out of the Holdens Super Box at the Southern End during the last quarter. Police and Security went up eventually and even though one offender was easily identified we were told because he was a guest of one competing club's major sponsor then a caution was sufficient.

I agree and being an ex player he must have realised he would be easily identified especially considering he was wearing his old guernsey.

Was just disapointing to wear some one elses spit and the situation could easily have escalated especially considering the emotions of straight after the match.

Are you serious ????????????
Centrals consistently draw good crowds and certainly give a great atmosphere at the big games. :!:

Centrals do have a good following...
....but if the day ever comes again that there is a Port/Norwood/Glenelg/Sturt GF (in any combination) you will see 40,000 plus at the sanfl GF.[/quote]

only cos they haven't been there for a while ;)

In 1999, when the SANFL was consistently drawing bigger crowds than it does now, Port played Norwood in the Grand Final (in fine weather) and the crowd was "only" 39,135.

When was the last time the premiership club got beaten by the wooden spoon club by 10 goals (okay it was 58 points, close enough) in the same season? :?

Not to take anything away from WWT...them winning was the best thing for almost everyone...

i think it was a pretty good crowd considering the very little publicity given to it (I didnt see anything on TV advertising it) and Centrals and Eagles arent big draw cards.

And it was easily the best game of the finals series.

Yeah agree poor effort Advertiser front page having RAINBOW RHETORICAL RANN giving his unwanted opinion instead of the meritorius 3 point Grand Final win against the powerhouse Central no one really gives a toss about your opinion Mr Rann its about 16 years too late bye bye and good riddance !!!

I'd back that none of the top three clubs will play in that comp. Next year.

Just look at the effort it took to win 3 games straight against the other 3 best teams in the comp. ; our blokes had nothing left to give at the end of a Grand Final , but some people think playing Vlad Tel Cup games during the season with help a club who is dead serious about winning , keeping its players on the park when it counts and giving its fans the ultimate reward .......
