Twilight Sheffield Shield matches will be tried again this summer as part of the push towards night Test cricket, in an Australian domestic schedule heavily influenced by the expansion of the Twenty20 Big Bash League.

Tim Paine, Australia's backup wicketkeeper, is in doubt for the start of the summer after breaking his finger at training last week. According to a statement from Cricket Tasmania, Paine, the state's vice-captain, broke his right index finger, the same finger he fractured last November during the Australian Cricketers' Association All-stars game.

Hauritz having a great start to season 11/12 and his attempt to get back in the Aussie side

Nathan Hauritz, the Australia offspinner, was struck in the face during an altercation at a nightclub and required facial surgery. The incident was investigated by police but Cricket Australia's general manager of cricket operations, Michael Brown, said Hauritz decided against pressing charges.

Hauritz copped a sanction from CA and hasnt laid charges which seems to suggest he instigated the attack. Happened 2 weeks ago so CA has hushed it up pretty well. Is having facial surgery to repair damage.
I may be incorrect but hasnt he had an alcohol related drama in the past?

Luke Pomersbach has said he will not take part in any domestic tournaments for Western Australia this season because of "health and well-being" reasons. His announcement comes a day after he missed a practice match, prompting Western Australia to initiate an investigation, with the possibility of taking disciplinary action.

"Over the past month I have been battling personal issues which have greatly affected the commitment I have made as a member of the Retravision Warriors squad," Pomersbach said. "It would therefore be in the best interests for myself, my team-mates, and WA cricket as a whole to step down from the state squad and the Perth Scorchers' Big Bash League team to concentrate on my well-being. I hope to one day return to the elite level if the chance presents itself."

Amazing fall from grace for Crossy, Not that there is anything bad about playing Grade cricket but he had such a big rating in the early days at the Vics.

Wade really not just overtook him but leaped over him.

Naw, we need him a little while first at the Eagles. However, trust me, it won't be long before Crossy is playing for South Australia. Very skilled player, both as batsman and keeper, and a heck of a nice guy as well - also a Central District supporter!
