How about a quick unarmed-combat kumite between the leaders of the 9 clubs' cheersquads?

Erect a big thunderdome in the middle of the oval. 9 men * enter, one man leaves....

Wouldnt be fair to all the other combatants, once the sturt cheer squad leader felt he was getting beaten he'd pack up and go home

Yeah, I think they're using the Port Power model of ticket distribution. Difference being people will actually turn up.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

How about
Parading past GF winning players, coaches, umpires
100 sprint, the way the AFL do it from each club
Long kicking comps for present or even past players from each club

Justa thought

Plenty of the past GF winning players get to parade when they run out onto the ground in their Central kit... :(

Really you believe if Hilltop Hoods played around a half an hour set before a football match 5k extra would attend at $30 each adult.

imho some people put too much emphasis on pre match entertainment.

SERIOUS QUESTION

How many people on here have gone to a sporting event they ordinarilly wouldnt because of who was the pre match entertainment?

I would go and pay $30 to see a 30 minute set from the hilltop hoods, even if port magpies were in the GF and thats saying something.
Also went to silverchair concert at clipsal without any interest in arriving before the last car left the track.

Phrased in that fashion, "contradiction" could be the descriptor you're thinking of.

Though happy to be corrected by more learned fellow posters, examples of oxymorons for you to ponder might be "dim-wit", "positively wrong", "thoughtful troll", "clever idiot", "false fact", "constructive negativity" or even "modest arrogance".

Hope that helps.
