Collingwood should seriously consider stripping him of the captaincy - two petulant speeches in Grand Finals now

and I like many do not rate him as a footballer

2 things about that, Usually the losing Captain is gracious and congratulates the other team first, not address his own team first!

And if he is the Captain of the team and a backline player, why would he not go onto Hawkins when he was going nuts in the 3rd, oh thats right, cos Maxwell is a dud player who appraently is a great leader.

Because Hawkins would eat him alive thats why. Just because he is captain i am sure he knows his limitations. The move should have been Tarrant to Hawkins as soon as Pod went down.

Congrats to the Catters! Fantastic result.. ;) Glad you got to see your lads get up this time round Wedginald. 8)

Bartel fully deserved his Normie, but one bloke who IMO had a real day out and has slipped under the radar a bit post-match, is Andrew Mackie. I thought he was sensational, and considering where he was at 12mths ago running around in the VFL, even more impressive. Rebounded strongly and showed great courage filling the hole in front of Cloke & Dawes, taking intercept marks backing into traffic.

Great call to shift Lonergan onto Cloke, and for Josh Hunt's sake, it was a good thing the Geelong midfield got on top and limited Collingwood's inside-50's, because Krakouer was towelling him up big time!

Had a great day had VArcoe first goal of the game. Varcoe first goal for Geelong and Bartel for the Norm. Very nice collect of $280 for a $30 invest. Spent it all that night on celebrating the great win.

I had Bartel in our Norm Smith auction.
Paid $130 for a $600 return.
Was pretty happy when his name was read out.

I also had $50 on Ben Johnson @ $41 to kick first goal. Unlucky!

Varcoe into Geeling

unlucky ones were my margins - I had Geelong 25-36

Got better, because i had Varcoe into GEE 40+ (@$71.5)!!!

Varcoe was my pick for first goal and covered all the other bets that i placed, and got on the cats line and cats 1-39 so was able to snare some pocket money.

My brother in law went to a party with a bloke and apparently he put $500 on varcoe for 1st goal into bartel for norm smith into cats 1-39 and cleaned up $19k......top effort if true.

I reckon he would have won a lot more than that if that multi came up.

LOL no way in hell would someone chuck $500 on that!

Bartel at worse was $7, Varcoe $17 and Geelong 1-39 would have been $2.80 at end of the week at worse. Having $500 on that equals a win of $166,600

I had a million zillion dollars on First Goal Varco into Jimmy Bartel to win the Norm Smith into Geelong to win by exactly 38 points into Meatloaf not being able to hit a note.
I missed out as Meatloaf accidentally hit one note.
