Christie batted really well, now to see him do it this week against a strong Glenelg side.

Heard a rumor Verral has left ICC as well. Anyone know if that is true?

Certainly would hurt ICC, if this is true with Sampson gone as well.

Would rate them a big big chance to finish bottom 3 or 4 if they have lost them both

Did Sampson go to Goodwood, does anyone know ???

If I was talking division 5 and all wickets from half trackers I would be.

Lucky Singh is who I meant, isnf Jaspreet his proper first name?

Yep, Lucky-J.

Find me someone who recommends using a 2-piece ball on turf, Keswick would be irresponsible if they didn't make such a recommendation. All Keswick did was ask clubs to consider it, seems that was too much to ask for.

Yeah i agree with you here Gowser. Nothing wrong with that recommendation by Keswick. We will use a two piece ball i think, but aslong as both sides in that game use the same ball there is no problem.

I do have a problem with the use of Marymount as a back up oval though. Just take a one day or drawn game. Yes it sucks but thats the cards your dealt with using a turf deck. What would happen if Keswick finish 2nd and were hosting the final. Then it was raining that weekend. Would they then move it to the Marymount? i doubt it! happy with the ball recommendation, keswick have done nothing wrong. the change of ovals, once again is only a recommendation put to the executive, but that one for mine, should definitely not get through

Geeeez, keswick are starting to remind me of one of my housemates. Her name is Mahalia, she's a woman. She whinges a lot and is always trying to make rules. Pretty annoying. Just saying.

Christie a ton? Good on the little man. Hopefully he can do it when it counts.
CK, last year was pretty average wasn't it ;)

Other news on CCC: we've picked up another couple of blokes from the hills including a new quick. Hopefully I get a game.

You must be reading these forums with one eye shut and there is nothing wrong with some healthy debating. For the record, opinions are my own and not representative of the clubs.

Yer, agreed. I read something about the captain inspecting the condition of the pitch on the morning of the match, which is just dumb, it will cause confusion + other problems. However, if you know by thursday/friday on the 1st week of a match that the pitch wont be playable, then i don't think it is unreasonable to move the match. The constitution also states something along the lines of 'encouraging the game of cricket', we got burnt by this previously with the hot weather fiasco.

What happens though if you finish 2nd, your club sees the pitch on thursday and friday, knows it wont be ready, but doesnt do anything. We all arrive on saturday to the game and the game is cancelled due to an unfit turf pitch. that is every chance of happening IMO.

Curious, what day/s will the the turf pitches be prepared mate?

So we're almost there.. who is everybody's tips this weekend?

ICC Sharks v MORPHY PARK
I think icc will struggle with the loss of Sampson and possibly Verral. If the Morphy talk is true, they'll be competitive this year

COROMANDEL v Sheidow Park
We genuinely think we are a chance this year. Won't be at full strength for a few games but without Cameron at the Bulls we should win

Belair v KESWICK
Belair will shock a few people this year when at full strength but Rusty, heath and Macca should make some runs and get them over the line.

Coromandel Ramblers v SOUTH ROAD
If May plays and bowls well they'll win. If not Blesing will win it for Ramblers. Big season from Archie too and they could make the 4

COVE v Plympton Footballers
Plympton will struggle this year so Cove should do it easy if theyre as good as they say they are. Didn't see it last year though

WYC v Glenelg ANA
I hate to admit it but WYC are always strong. So are ANA. Think this will be match of the round. Centres by less than 10 runs. CK might even get double figures ;)

Whilst i think we will be around the mark we are missing Scott Luders from last year through injury and few other players who may not be playing the first few games which will make the start for us very important to give us a shot at being around the mark come christmas time.

Making the top 4 this year i think will be a real challenge.

It's a disadvantage to the other teams. A lot of players have played hard wicket all their lives. Used 2-piece balls all their lives. Learnt to bowl with a 2-piece.

Will Keswick supply 4 piece balls for teams to train with so their players can get used to the difference in bowling with 2 piece to a 4 piece. Will Keswick supply turf nets for teams to practice so players can learn the nuances of a turf deck?
