Anyhow, got nothing.

I know this doesn't help you now mate, but in future, maybe put it out there and get some feedback before you book a charter in a place you're not familiar with. Like all charters, there are good & bad. Some will work their rear end off to find you fish, where some will just take your money and be happy delivering stuff all. If you're not a member already, 'www.fishsa.com' is a great place to find info, with a section specifically dedicated to fishing interstate & overseas. ;) Somebody, somewhere, will be able to give you valuable advice in future. 8)

I headed over to Pt Vic on the weekend, where there were some awesome KGW specimens landed, unfortunately not in my boat.. :P  I made the call to change spots and find a few squid (which we did), but by the time I headed back around the turn of the tide, the other 3 boats had all bagged out on BIG whiting, with the average around 45cm, and the biggest stretching the tape to a whopping 53cm. Held in the hands of the 13yo lad who poled it onboard, this thing looked like a spotted snook! End result aboard my tub was 14 KGW & 12 squid on Saturday, and 13 KGW & 16 BIG squid on Sunday. Plenty of boating traffic too, with a AAA round happening on the Sunday.

Next trip there will be 22 & 23/10 to chyase some reds before the ban.

Combo of WW, Seabreeze and BoM, mate. Seabreeze is pretty accurate (within 24hrs) and with their 7 day prediction you can see gaps of promising boating conditions. :D Best part of seabreeze IMO is the fact you can see wind direction & any directional changes during the day. Especially beneficial during the warmer months when the S/W seabreeze starts to kick in. Any ENE or N/E arvo predictions = post work sesh, usually in flat, balmy conditions. 8)

Anyone got any metro goldbars lately? Been getting a few around my local waters (Port Pirie) but am slowly getting overrun by the Shitties.

Seabreeze is best for weather in my opinion....I only look at 3 day forecasts, anything longer than that are they are guessing.

Need a decent patch of warm weather to bring the YFW on locally. Solid catches of good sized goldbars from Gulf St Vincent side of Yorkes have been filtering back for the last month or so.

Spent the day off Parham yesterday, expecting a few fish after last weeks blow and bout of rough weather. Was not fully confident given the calm few days since has cleared the water up again, but the two of us ended up with 20 honking KGWs in a crazy 40 mins of mayhem. Had been fluffing around for 2 hours before we got a thing, and then found them in a big way. Had a ball. Just couldn't get those last 4, but stoked all the same. Plenty of snapper coming in from the drops up that way too at present.

Nice purchase, the Siennas are a great reel for the money, miles above anything else in the price range by a long way. I had one until an eagle ray decided to make a mess of the insides

Anyone been catching much lately? I have been getting a few squid for Port Hughes jetty but apart from that not much. I have heard the goldbars are moving in so I will have crack at them next weekend :)

Also, regarding weather resource websites, the webcams on the TransportSA site are handy - have webcams set up at West Beach ramp and overlooking Outer Harbor. Think they update every 30secs or so.

http://www.transport.sa.gov.au/news_media/webcams.asp

There's also a live 'surfcam' set up overlooking Glenelg Beach & jetty. Also handy if you live a fair way from the coast & in a bit of doubt whether the weatherman is on the money & if it's worth your while dragging your tub down to a local ramp. 8)

It sure would appear as though you're outta luck on this occasion, but for those of us who live a tad closer to said locations, it's fairly useful. :P ;)

Fished at Pt Vic on the weekend just gone, in conditions described as nothing short of sensational - especially Sunday. Managed to get out wide both days and bagged out on KG whiting, some of them around the half-metre mark. Man, they were BIG! :D Managed a new PB of 50.5cm, which I was fairly stoked with. 8)

Managed half a dozen snapper across both days, with 4 caught on Saturday and 2 on Sunday, with the biggest stretching the tape to around the 60cm mark. Highlight of the trip was a 185cm (just over 6ft in the old scale) gummy shark that was caught by my mate Ian and was landed by hand - coz they didn't have a gaff and the net they had onboard looked like something you'd catch butterflies with.. Managed to film the fight and the eventual, chaotic capture, so I'll upload it to Utube sometime soon. ;)

Here's my mate Rob landing a 49cm KGW on the Sunday - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kM5TyKmhsIw

And a pic too. 8)
