JK, we'll work our way around these verbal jabs.
A brutal and gutsy assessment on your behalf.
Hopefully, for your sake, those that count at the NFC will take some note.

So how do you line up the dogs form after Norwood were so meek today?

Could be a cracker next week if the Eagles can make it a shoot out and not an arm wrestle.

We don't have genuine, reliable key forwards. And when Campbell went down, we lost our best in and under midfielder.

No, I think the season masked some flaws that weren't clearly exposed until late in the Minor Round and early in the Major Round.

It's the Norwood way to always insist on trying to play a highly/overly skilled style, with a squad that doesn't have the ability to implement it under pressure (in a competition that has no side capable of implementing under pressure most likely) - Not mid winter Minor Round pressure, but Major Round pressure.

Norwood played the Eagles and Centrals 7 times for 2 wins (1 of which was by a point whilst we were playing our best footy for the year) - We can't hide from that.

It's about time we shoved our "pride" up our collective asses and adopted styles and philosophies that successful clubs of the last 20 years have regularly displayed.

I like the style, ambitious, but no reason it can't work (almost paid off last year). I'd like to see more of a defensive element to it though.

I know I've been telling them the same stuff for at least 7 years, and I'm not the only one .. But no doubt we'll be the know-nothing supporters who are only thought about as "Look just give us your money and be a good little member and shut your mouth"

I think this is the reason we have Coopers sponsorship, gives us something decent to drink to keep us on side ;)

Good call , that is how the Eagles can win .If it's in close as Godden indicated today it will be the Dogs easily.

Can they though? They clearly outplayed Norwood today and didn't muster a massive haul of goals.
It was a dour contest until the last term when the Legs knew they were shot.

There is no doubt, though, that the Eagles have provided a tough contest for us this season.

I think that highlights my point mate .. Lower, Duigan, Puopolo and Phillips would have been in our best 5 players last year and it still didn't quite work, so not sure how it was going to this year?

That's the big question. I would say Norwood were mainly responsible for the defensive slog today and we all know the Eagles can play the shoot out style effectively.

They have the quality talls that could worry the Dogs

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. My stomach hurts.

:D :D That was funny.

Next week, 22000 crowd.

21999 Centrals supporters and Grocke's mum.

In all fairness, I think Central should have a year off in 2012 as long service leave, and let the others have a go.

Ever heard of Karma dogfish?

THe Grand Final is 50/50 that either side can win if at their best on the day.

Yes you are right BP. I take it all back.

Well played Eagles. :)

Woeful game of football.
And for all those who spruik nonsense about the healthy crowds at SANFL level, where were they?
Less than 7000 is pathetic.

Obviously Bassett has faith. His faith in his players is why he has been able to get so much out of them.

From an outside point of view Bassett didnt recruit and then failed to make the changes to suit the squad.

Not having Pupoplo and Duigan was a huge amount of run, carry and pace to lose from the defensive 50, none of the recruits were ultra quick or attacking defenders in the same mould.

What i saw in the second semi was that the game plan hadn't adjusted and the difference this year was while they were chipping around in the back half they didnt have that explosive player willing to break the lines and play on as Pup and Duigan did last year.

Either he had to recruit to the structure or change the structure to suit the squad he had.

The only posts I've read from the poster in question are negative towards the competition.
Maybe I just haven't read enough of his posts.

Yes, he does raise some concerns. I'd just rather read them from someone who actually cares about this competition.

The SANFL is getting very boring. IMO, full time coaches trying to implement full time game plans with part time players means that there is lots of strategy and not much logic being used.

The past three games I've watched of SANFL finals footy would have to be the worst exhibition of football SA has produced for ages.

Anyone who thinks that this style of football is better than the AFL is kidding themselves.
