You have to keep in mind that Geelong has a far better list than Port Adelaide and Primus has had it alot tougher than Scott. I don't think that if Scott was coaching Port they would be in a better position than where they are at the moment. I'm not saying Scott is not a decent coach, I think he's been fantastic this year for Geelong but the group of players he has at his disposal is far better than what Primus has at is, hence why Geelong won the flag this season and Port finished 16th.

you haven't been watching him have you ?
I'd say they'd have made the finals --- that's how good Scott is.

I want what your smoking! Jesus Christ couldn't have taken port to a finals series this year.

Obviously you didnt watch the power play too often this season.

Chris Scott had a great side to work with this season, his job was to reform a gameplan designed to take a side destined to finish 4-6th to a grand final and he did that. If Scott had of won the port job we would have finished no higher than probably 13th.

chris scott did say that the 2 clubs - cats and power were at different stages

the cats - still a flag threat while the power was a work in progress

Thoroughly enjoyed the game, and thought to 3/4 time it was a cracking game ... Cats didn't have a passenger and their bigger, harder and more experienced bodies around the ball were the big difference I think.

Tough to pick best players, with Bartel, Selwood, Pendlebury and Hawkins perhaps the standouts, but really liked Mackie's game also.

It was a tight contest but as a spectacle I didn't think this year was one of the great grand finals. I constantly felt myself comparing yesterday's game to that of last Friday in terms of a lack of pace and contested footy in comparison. This same point was made by Vossy at 3/4 time. Congrats to Geelong.

Probably right mate, but I only saw last years game on the box .. At the ground on Sat I thought it was pretty awesome, the atmosphere was brilliant with both sides in it til late, and there was some cracking goals from each team.

Definitely don't rate it as one of the greats. The contest has to be going right until the end for it to be ranked there.
Fantastic first three quarters though.

As much as it disappointed me to read them, today's headlines on the front and back page of the Sunday Mail were pretty good: Ling Dynasty, Cat Empire.
Right up there with: Surprise in jocks: Peckers, which was in another yarn.

Yep, and a work in progress can sneak into the finals.
Port at their best were miles above what we saw all year. Instead they played pathetically with no fight and meekly falling over when challenged. Scott would have had them playing like a football side that wins.
No lower than tenth, possibly playing finals.

Got to pay a big tribute to the Cats here. I was one who was reluctant to rate them amongst the greatest sides of all time, but this Premiership pushes them right up there.
Having been expected to slide away from Flag contention they refused to accept that and took Collingwood down.
Eddie's lot were supposed to be untouchable in 2011, but Geelong wouldn't let them have it, showing us the Cat Era was far from finished.
Only one of the greatest team's ever can pull off something like this.

Can't always be right.

Had a great weekend, drove over Friday, stayed for 2 nights at the Stamford Plaza penthouse (others that had stayed there according to the plaque were Jimmy Barnes, Kieran Perkins, Steve Waugh and a few others) in Little Collins St, wandered down to the game about 12.30 on Saturday, had great seats and went down to Geelong today.
Had a ball, great finally seeing the Cats win a flag live after having followed them for over 25 years. Below shows the view we had at the game.

Tell ya what, there was a lot of people at Kardinia Park today, had fun though!
Check out Matty Stokes, he dressed up as Iron Man!
Varcoe was smashed, Stevie J rocked up on crutches but took them off for the presentation, his effort yesterday was amazing.
Ling wouldn't stop smiling and assured us that the knock to the broken nose was OK and he'd still be right for modelling.

anyone found any of the collingwood players, all went missing when it got tough.... Geelong in my opinion are the best in recent history...
