Plus a bonus, no trains going past the oval to distract anyone this season!!!

Who are some of the names?

Saw Lee Mitchell on Saturday, he is playing there

Apparently there has been no clearance sighted yet, leaving it a bit late? Maybe the clearance will come in ready for Round 2

Lee has told Rose & Crown his intentions to play at SG this season, I wouldn't imagine there will be any issues with a clearance, he still has bit over a week anyway..

Besides clearances these days are done in a matter of minutes online.

I thought that I would get the ball rolling in regards to where everyone will finish after the minor rounds:

Nuri/Eudunda/Freeling/Tanunda/Light Pass
Sand Creek
Angaston
Gilbert Valley
Gawler Central
Kapunda
Tanunda
South Gawler

Hmmmmmmmmm;

Angaston - With the inclusion of a couple of players (i think his name is Sacchin) to bolster the side and add to that the improvement seen in some of their youngsters last year could put them at the top of the tree i reckon.
Nuri - Might start slowly but will come home with a bang once their injuries have gone. Inclusion of John Lienert will be massive, just another good bowler to bowl 20 overs in a day
Sandy Creek - Might start slowly aswell with a few missing in the first few games, plus a pre season wasnt up to scratch, very handy inclusions will see the team rejuvinated
Gilbert Valley - The inclusion of J Vandeleur will give the side the confidence. Plus it helps if the team only has to chase a handful of runs after Vandy has run through the order.
Kapunda - Will be keen to make amends for the relegation, rate this side highly and they may just knock off the Valleys for fourth spot
Gawler Central - Really not sure here, they could win everything but the loss of Kingy is massive, with the new inclusions it is vital for that side to have someone like Kingy to hold them all together. Possible implosion
Tanunda - Unfortunately for them the messiah has gone, and so has Boh Wall. Rumour was Gattemeyr and Schwarzkopff were also gone but facebook may tell otherwise, will struggle to beat the rest of the sides in A1.
South Gawler - Dont really know alot about them, some handy bats from what i hear and could be 1-0 after Round 1

Then again i could be totally wrong, all i do know is that it will be a highly competitve season with several clubs recruiting and making the club a damn sight stronger. 8 Days to go BRING IT ON!!!

Nuri- How far?? Its theirs to lose from here. Perkins, Lienert and Zerner add great depth
Sandy Creek- Birchmore and Hill both look the goods should at least play in another grand final. Hogan and McLoughlin the only losses.
Gawler Central- Could go that one further step to a grand final with the addition of Fracka, Serle, McCafferty, Thomas and King will play and captain the side, may miss one or two games at the start.
Kapunda- Will be very determined to show that they deserve to be in A1. Wont be just happy to avoid relegation, they will think they are a genuine chance to win it. Picked up Goldsmith from Eudunda
Angaston- Batting still a problem (sacchin has returned home), Depth may be an issue with the loss of Adler, McHendrie and Murphy and Koch. 17yr old Miles will be handy but cant see him making big scores.
Gilbert Valley- Will improve with JV back but not enough to make an impact on the finals, batting a problem.

DAYLIGHT
South Gawler- Butler full time will help to adjust to A1, hard to see them beating anyone but Tanunda
Tanunda- Wont win a game, Wall, Hartigan and Boschen definitely gone, possibly Schwarzkopff and Gattermayr.

Seen Kocho training at the Vine Inn last night with Slip and the boys.
Looks to have a sharp finger and could be a Quick Draw Mcgraw.

Unfortunately an SOS call from the Hayes Stud has meant that Jason Zanotti will be returning back to Victoria where he will be preparing to ride one of David Hayes horses in the Melbourne Cup in just over a months time, all the best for Jason and I am not a big gambler but I think I might even throw a fifty on the nose of the horse he is riding (once I know the name of the horse). Agree with Days that Angos batting has been a problem but one would think that players like Scott Rathjen and Brandon Kurtz will not have another year like last year then the inclusions of Shaun Woodards back into the mix with Beau Byster, Craig Isbel and Jack Miles coming back from town will bolster the top order. Plus the possibility of a couple of other players things are progressing nicely for the Blue Boys. Only thing we are lacking is a spin bowler ;) although have heard rumours that Murphy will be back in town after round one.

I had heard Vivian had retired and wasn't playing, nor was Butler at South. For every Centrals "in" this year, they have lost someone so I'm not sure how that strengthens their side.

Top 4 of... Not in order
Nuri- strong unit but i reckon thier luck will dry up come finals
Sandy- would like to see these lads continue thier winning form, as long as sandy are winning the old guard will try and hunt them down with a passion
Ango- I would think these lads are a chance of winning the chocolates, and would love to rock up on the last sunday of the season and see some of the posters on here going hammer and tongs
Kapunda- This time is pretty much older then time itself, but full of class, expect a strong showing from the bomber, they wouldn't have enjoyed thier time in the scrapheap thats A1ressies

GC- Ill admit I dont know much about this side, but they seem to be reasonable handy and manage to pull off favourable results when required, not a genuine contender though IMO
GV- showing faith in my lads, but could well be a hot candidate for relegation, a lot will depend on JV, mullo isnt available for the entire season due to work and ryan vandy while a gun is very hit and miss, some may be saddned to hear about the loss of great club man rocky hutton, others not so worried as there will be BBQ and beers now left for them once they leave the playing arena... big years required by the young trio of M. Hosking D. Busch and T. Connell for a succesful season and by success I mean keep out of the ressies

SG- good young squad, shaun lay can play (when he wants)... is the young fella who made serious runs in the juniors coming through?? and is Aaron Meredith staying at northerns or returning to the lions den???... could be a long season for them though, probably not an extended stay for the lighter blue caps
Tanunda- Good bye!!!!! sooooo many outs... gatts will be missing just before and after xmas with outbacks commitments (congrats on your inclusion in the squad big fella, thouroughly deserved after last years country carnival)... although that is one man, boh managed to carry them for a number of years so looks like the bucks been passed.

Sacchin is human, first ball last night I had him caught behind.
A story for the grandkids one day. Maybe I am a better bowler than I thought.
Was no co-incidence that our front line bowlers coveniently showed up just as the little master was finishing his hit.
Meanwhile, it's Lucky Gilbert Valley practice against Jimmy V, coz B.Woodards and Matty Blinks were searingly quick last night.
If Woody bowls like that Saturday GV will be lucky to make 20.
2ft of inswing was almost unplayable.
Beware.
