Clubs get active already for 2012

Postby The Sleeping Giant » Sat Oct 01, 2011 10:11 pm

Geez Phil, Andy Collins is the highest paid coach with not even a final to show for it in a 9 team comp with a top 5 after 4 seasons. The guy is a dud. Can't believe there isn't more noise coming out of west.

Correct, he has no idea. I think every other club has played finals in the last 5 years.

I understand all that TSG, just wondered who people think the right person is to take Westies forward if it is not Andy Collins?

Well that puts him ahead of your coach who hasn't provided any explanation for why your side is.

Spend heaps of time trotting out excuses why you have achieved way below what you should with all the resources at your disposal.........

Maybe Collo should pull up stumps on coaching and head into politics.

Not a fan of Mr Collins SANFLnut?

Who do you think should be the coach of West Adelaide?

Are you a fan Phil ,if so why ?

If not and you think someone else should step in who do you think Phil ?

I think if SANFL clubs want to be the best they have to learn from the best, id be looking at assistants and reserves coaches at Centrals. I think they have a couple of very good guys in the wings that would be able to step up to a league job

I like Andy Collins HP but I'm not sure that he is now the right man to take the Bloods to the next level.

I think if he hasn't managed success to this point in time, it's probably not going to eventuate.

I guess next year will be the final test for him as he will be out of contract (I think?) so time will tell.

I don't think a current Central assistant will look too serious into League gigs at other clubs, all of them currently at the Dogs are pretty comfortable with their work/family/football lives as they are.

Perhaps a Gary Ayres or Peter German might be a good fit at the Bloods or if Shaun Rehn wants to get back into coaching, perhaps he might be a good fit back there.

What's your thoughts HP - remember this is a forum for discussing and interacting others thoughts on footballing matters ;)

Yes most forums are for that Phil.

Why Gary Ayres when recently an another thread you thought he was going to be a Port Power assistant ?

Anyway , Collins will be at West next year .

Perhaps Luke Norman can take up the West job once he finishes his tenure with Sturt.

Coincidentally, Luke Norman will be out of contract at the end of next year.

Westies have little option but to keep AC for another season because they are likely to struggle to find the coin to pay the contract out, I feel they are a very good chance of making the five next season, yet if that that point they do not I would suggest that its over.

If for some reason say a sponsor of the club paid out the contract and the vacancy was being currently advertised, my thought would be that Mark Riccutio would be a good option for the club if its factual that he has a desire to get into Coaching.

Not a fan of Mr Collins SANFLnut?

Who do you think should be the coach of West Adelaide?

Mickan or Godden or Norman from other clubs. Mellor or Sporn from club. Roo from media.

They are all in front of Collins IMO and that is without considering anyone that didn't play for us.

We need a coach who will encourage players to play the game and take it on rather than complicate things and force them to work against their instincts. Critical that they actually develop the whole list too. Five years in with an 18s side that played in GF last year and cry lack of depth? Just suggests lack of forward planning.

Get it right...North supporters look like refugees from Mad Max!

As for Norman coaching West...strong chance he'd be looking for a new club sometime around the 1st of July next year...

Anything on the Dogs front? I was hearing a few rumours around this time last year...

Dont think there is much to here at the Dogs mate.

Lairdy will probably evaluate what he wants to do once the season is finished.

If he wants the job in 2012 he gets it, if he decides his time is up and doesnt want to continue Jeff Brown will be the coach in 2012.

Nothing to exciting.
