Unfortunately, there will still be a heap of young teeny boppers who will be flocking there in droves to see the crud and as long as they are still getting numbers through the gates, that's all they care about.

Since about 2003 Dutch man!

Yeah was trying to remember the last one I went to, prob 03 or 04, is there a list anywhere of artists who played back then?

The days just before it boomed were magnificent.

Me and a mate have committed to going again one day, I actually dont mind a few of the bands playing so might even do it for old times sake.

Sadly, yes.
It's the same as JJJ.
What used to be primarily a rock station is now a hiphop, dance fest.
Hate it. Hate it! HATE IT! RAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Spot on !!! What a pathetic state of affairs the BDO has become .

I remember it was all about promoting young up and coming bands and a real Australian flavor ....bands like sidewinder you am I the dirty 3 etc....

So sad to see for the kids coming through today .

I saw kanye west support u2 and all he did was preach the gospel to the crowd!!!
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

Thank goodness that Nobo just lets the music do the talking *cough*

Nothing in the BDO lineup for me sadly...dismal lineup

The last proper BDO was in '97. Back then it was an alternative rock festival, the organisers took '98 off and when they brought it back in '99 it was purely to be as commercial as possible, since then it's just been about making as much money as possible.

Having said that the only BDO I went to was in 2002 to see Tomahawk (they made their now somewhat legendary performance on Channel V later that tour) who were on during the day and left as soon as their set finished. It was all up a horrible experience at the festival and not even Fantomas being on the '09 bill could draw me back.

93 was pretty good...Beasts of Bourbon, Mudhoney, Sonic Youth, Iggy Pop, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds but they were no Kanye.

Spot on. I've only been twice since then. 2001 to see Joe Strummer (left straight after) and Stooges in 2006....and got freebies to both 8)

Battles will be amazing. If you are going and want to see the OPPOSITE of Kanye, check them out. Cage the Elephant will also be cool, as will a couple of others who should be named in the second announcement! Aw yeah!

Went to all the adelaide shows til 2003, then went last year with a freebie AAA (cheers sis!).

Price kept going up to the point where I broke the lineup up to $ value (how much I'd pay to see them individually). Hence from 04-10 I didnt attend!

I did come and listen at the fence at 04 for Metallica. 8)

well i am going just to see Soundgarden.other bands i have not so much interest. To spend $165 to see one band is not ideal but hey i am to injury prone and unfit to jump a fence

2004 the best for me...
Metallica, Muse, Dandy Warhols. Had a ball.
2008 wasn't bad, but not for the music. Just had a ball that day getting drunk. Josh Pyke was probably the highlight.

Went when Muse headlined a couple of years ago. Didn't enjoy it at all apart from them and Powderfinger at the end of the day.
