He'd be brilliant in that role IMHO, I think the Crows originally wanted to hold onto him in some sort of similar role when his coaching days finished but his downward spiral was too quick to be able to not justify in getting rid of him completely from the club.

Always figured Craig moving onto the payroll at Adelaide was fraught with danger.

If he finished on great terms in say 5-10 years from now, would he liked to have stayed on? I doubt it.

If he lost the confidence of the board and playing group, would he liked to have stayed on? He hasn't.

I agree with Wedgie though, someone of his ilk should do well in this role, as does Neil Balme, another bloke who never really reached any great heights as a coach but has too much to offer to the game to be lost altogether.
