Surely Dogs supporters dont rate Mathew Westhoff as a player of ANY importance.

Along with Wade Thompson and Marlon Motlop, one of the luckiest blokes to play AFL

Kicks around 2 goals a game as a premiership winning key forward. He's the sort of guy you'd hang on to if you possibly could IMHO. I've no doubt he could improve in many areas, but generally when fit he plays at a level good enough to make our side. Maybe your side is just harder to get into.....

Grahaml, Westhoff kicked a total of 8 goals for the year in a barnstorming side that finished comfortably on top and never played in defence !!!!

-So I presume going on your summation of his value and form, that he only played in 4 or 5 games [about 2 goals a game] ;) ;)

And how many chances did he set up? Not my fault you know nothing about the guy. I presume North had every forward kicking more goals per game than Westhoff. Without knowing his role in the side you seem pretty keen to sink the boot in given your side finished 8th. I remember North fans being all up and about when they got less talented footballers from our reserves to join them, and if you picked Westhoff up I suspect you'd be talking up his record. Facts are, you are wrong. The guy can play and has made some significant contributions to good sides. Sides that don't like to rely on individuals to kick big bags (his goals per game average is similar to Callinan and Havelberg, I guess they can't play either). But keep posting that sort of nonsense. I've got nothing better to do this week with no Centrals game to talk about, so a bit of comedy helps.

He is a better kick for goal than Alleway or Gill.

Its a tough one with Westoff, he holds the structure of how Central play very well and when he gets to the contest he is generally good but imho as an individual player he lacks talent.

When his good his ok but when his bad its embarrasing.

Its like some of the shots Michael Clarke has been getting out to lately when his soft his marshmellow soft.

Personally i would be happy if he plays with the Dogs next year but i wouldnt be cutting into the salary cap too deep to make it happen.

At the end of the day he was struggling at reserves level and was VERY VERY VERY lucky to get a game ahead of Nick White when he was brought back into the side.

An interesting poll on the CDFC forum would be .

Who would be the first picked in your side Matty Westoff, Kynan Ford?

He's frustrating at times but if you've not heard dogs fans saying he's been a reasonable contributor then you've not spoken to many, and probably the ones who don't know much about what's going on. Usually the ones that don't like how he's playing are the ones who want a long kick directly to an opponent, cheer a kick that gets chopped off or groan as a pass hits a teammate inside 50.

But if you don't rate him I'm sure he'll take it as a compliment, given your record.

I've not seen enough of White but given he's not got a look in with all the injuries I'd say they think he's a fair way off the mark. Especially since he was behind a retired bloke for a league spot! But it could well be Westhoff got a game on previous performances more than his form at the time. Regardless, several sides have NO key forwards with his goalkicking average, let alone a guy who often has been the third key forward hitting the scoreboard that often.

I think the problem that Central supporters have with ANY of The Westhoffs is that They don't seem passionate about Their footy, & lack of passion doesn't sit well with Central supporters.

yeah 4 billion % agree and that may be completely unfair on them as some of the most talented sportsmen have had that persona.

Mark Waugh anyone.

But the way people carry themselves has a huge impact in peoples eyes similar to a few years ago when Fevola was shown on t.v having a laugh with a few Saints players straight after the siren blew in a close loss. Didnt sit well with alot of Carlton fans i knew.

Some people just look laconic and others look hard working. But I know people have looked lazy and disinterested who actually work harder than those who seem to be busting their nut. I look at Matt and Justin and notice how they always seem to find space and figure it wasn't luck that happened. Leigh was a different sort of player but had that same sort of attribute. Regardless though, Matt finds space, hits the scoreboard and sets goals up for teammates. In the end, that's what a forward is supposed to do. I'd rather Matt Westhoff who looks laconic but gets space and makes contributions against the better sides than Ruory Kirkby who looks like he works hard but does squat when it matters.

Oh dear - that's "rich" coming from a West supporter! North have been investigated more than any club since 2005 and one minor breach realting to Damon Whites playing coach payment was detected due to him being in the wrong classification. Over the cap by under $5K!!! So put up or shut up, you as bad as your whinging excuse ridden coach who I see on the Adelaide Now website today has provided an article of excuse as to why your side is crap!
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.
