Adelaide Footy League Talk

Postby footynut » Tue Mar 27, 2007 2:16 pm

Funny thing about Goodwood picking up Illman. Not sure where they are getting all their money from. They have also just recruited Adrian Burton and are paying him $300 per match but they tell everyone they are not big payers. How do they afford Webb, Demasi, Burton and now Illman?
Hope they can make all their payments.

Anton Geradis was allegedly sacked from GAZA, due to problems following the footy trip to the gold coast. The details of what he did need not to be mentioned, although it resulted in him no longer being welcome at GAZA, he is now playing on the York Peninsula playing for Ardrossen!
why should he be protected? It wasn't Gaza's fault, no-one is implying they played any part in it. Maybe Ardrossan should be "aware".
I heard that if Anton wasn't given a DCM, the Radetti boys were handing in their notice (allegedly)

That'd be him Dutch... And if he cost 30 other blokes a footy trip, it doesn't surprise me he's been given the arse...

Carey - DCM is don't come monday.

Apparently this Buring guy has got a transfer to Cobdogla for this season, so must have played at North last year.

Interesting that Benny didn't play in trial. Will be very interested to know how he goes this year. Replacing Campo could be a big job.

How did Wicks, Pascoe and Pitt go. Has TTG improved much from last year? Any other new players to TTG and any signifigant losses ?

Surely TTG will not go straight back down in 08, with those pick ups along with no major losses (correct me if wrong) they will hold there own.
Word has it that Gepps were a better side last year however have not recruited nor retained enough quality to stay in Div 1 after 07. Any thoughts/facts people?

From seeing both TTG and Gepps last year Gepps had good depth in their smaller players but a lack of quality talls and some of those they did have I think have moved on. TTG were a far better balanced side and if they can get good performances from the recruits they should stay up and be more than competetive.

Pitt and Pascoe will enjoy playing against SNFC, especially seeing as though SNFC are very very young.

The TTG form has I believe surprised most, even at the Club. With Pascoe and Pitt eased through the pre-season, it has been the form of the younger running brigade that seems to have stepped up. Wicks definitely looks a class player though, and P. Sarno I think from the Hills can play tall or small.

I would think the immediate/realistic aim is to stay in Div 1, anything from there is really a bonus.
