Only Eighteen More Sleeps…

What is the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s® most requested international wish destination, you ask?

Why Disneyland® of course – the happiest place on earth!

So who would be the most favourite character of those wish recipients?
Winnie the Pooh!

After 80 years of friendship and adventure, our friends from the 100 acre Wood are still treasured by our wish children, their mums and dads, and even their grandparents.

It’s no revelation that many wish recipients are determined to meet their special friends from the 100 Acre Wood when they tour Australia as part of Winnie The Pooh’s 80th Anniversary celebrations in April.

As Australia’s largest wish granting charity, the Make-A-Wish Foundation will hold a wishing well donation initiative at each show to raise much-needed funds and make even more dreams come true. Some of our special children will also have their wish granted by one of their favourite characters from the 100 Acre Wood live on stage.

We can’t say who yet as we don’t want to spoil the surprise for our wish children. Stay tuned…

Former Make-A-Wish recipient, Stephanie, from Adelaide first visited Disneyland with her twin sister thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in 1994. Both girls are affected by Ataxia Telangiectasia, a rare disease similar to Muscular Dystrophy.

That Disneyland trip had so many fond memories for the family that her sister, Jessica chose the same wish experience only last year. Even though the girls are now 15 years old, they still had as much fun at the theme park and even tracked down their old pal, Winnie the Pooh.

Stephanie and Jessica had actually entered a competition to meet the friends from the 100 Acre Wood during their Australia visit so couldn’t believe their luck when Disney and the Make-A-Wish Foundation offered them the chance to appear onstage during the show.

The twins are saving like mad to return to Disneyland in 2008.

Dogwatcher my son got a big toy basket from make a wish when he was 1 year old and was very ill .He has the chance to make another wish when he turns four next year and i would like to thank them for all the support they have giving us. It is sad that you have to go thru some heavy shit to see all these people who do great things for young childern who are ill. makes me shake my head when i see that some peoples most serious issues are that they might not get to see the crows or power live on tv every week and others go thru such heavy shit and get great support from these charities.
