No there was quite a few players unable to make the long trip due to work commitments and the like. Probably 6 or 7 short in the A's

Cheers, TWE. If ppl get bagged here for no reason, there'll be no decent posters.
Anyway...was speaking to a Bridgey lad over the weekend and he's pretty damn happy with their improvement. Standard influx of some policemen that sound like the goods. Plus the Kluzeks...
Anyone know anymore?

Bridgey looked ordinary on satdy but did have many players out. One Bridgey ruckman has a bad back apparentlyBently or Butchard cant remember which one.
A new cop played, farnsy or something not sure. He looked unfit and didnt make much of an impact. Donnelly last week was good but seems to try take on the tackler every time he gets the ball. Worked against Morphet Park but against a better team im not so sure he will be dominant.
Good to see young gun Ben Pohl kicking the only two goals in the A grade for the Raiders on the weekend, a bright prospect.

Yeah Bridgey could only manage two goals, pretty much struggled. Yeah all those players are playing for the Raiders. Should steal a few games at Raider park with all those talls.

out with jules and s feijen sat nit, butchard has hurt his back but nothing a bit of rest wont fix. bridgy only kicked 2 goals but had alot of players out in a grade. only had 10 a graders playing all 4 qtrs. the rest were b graders and under 17's. was pretty well all the locals with 4 recruits playing. even jules was contemplating putting the boots on they were that short on numbers. next week against the mortphet vale they will have near full strength team. there will be about 3 new guys out including kluzek who wont be avialable til round 4. they are expecting big things from him tho.

Who's Ben Moore from Bridgewater - he's playing for Berri this year....

Not the former Glenelg player is it?

Is that the Donnelly former Div 1 player, on baller maybe but a fair sized unit? If its the same, he is quality when up and going.

Butchard and Bentley will take time to find there feet, they are confidence players. Bentley injury prone and a very typical big man, slow and doesnt turn real well. Butchard, confidence player, was good for the Ramblers but again a better key forward than a ruckman.

Kluzeks, Bridgy must have had some cash????

I know the Bentley/Butchard get would not come in under $700 a game, if they are on any less t han $350 a game I will eat my own head? Kluzeks would be around the same mark for sure, if not more.
Surely these boys are a chance to play in september or....?

Not sure about that, but stranger things have happened. Butchard and Bently both played last year and they still struggled

RonBurgundy and Blueeyes pull the crap down about umpires before you get booted out of the forum. We should make it clear to everyone that we do not get personal to umpires, the numbers are getting that short that we will soon struggle to find enough to continue this great sport that we love.

You may not always agree with their decisions, but their are proper avenues to go down without ousting them in public and humiliating them. Pull your heads in !!! I am not an umpire and i often have to much to say to them but i respect what they do and realise that we need them. You blokes should have a good hard think about it !

butch and bents played last year and were very good. butch plays best in deffence and plaid majority of games, bents plaid in ruck and was good but did miss few games with injury. butch and bents have both taken a pay cut this year as they enjoy the club. honestly not on $700 between the 2 so hope ur head tastes nice coz it could be ful of a bit of shit! lol . they are very close friends with coach and enjoy the club. kluzek would be on a bit but he has also brought another few mates that are playing for nothing. robby don't no what your talking about. bents made the hfl div 1 team of the year!

i don't recall having a go at his umpiring. i hold nothing against him on his umpiring, good on him for doing it. i think any guy that abuses a 11 year old in a game of tennis and uses bully tactics against him is a dead set idiot! if i had a go at his umpiring i appologise but as a person the bloke is a knob jockey!

Ron, i said the Raiders as a team still struggled, i do agree Bentley was a stand out last year for the Raiders. Massive unit with a massive kick, very valuable player

Sorry Ron, so they have gone from $400/$450 a game to $300/$350 a game. Or dont tell me, they are playing for the love and only get a snitty and petrol money? Ive played with and against these boys and know them both well, that might be the word around the club but Im betting (my head obviously) that it aint that true.
Why the hell would a club ask a HFL Div 1 Team of the Year player to take a pay cut? Silly talk I reckon but a bet is a bet, once you get me proof I will commence the eat off.

they aren't as young as they used to be. no on good auth that they are not earning $350 a game, not to say they aren't getting close to that. maybe a pay cut could be due to the player being injury proned or overpaid the year before.
