Pongy started well and were 3 goals up but it was all Willunga after that. Won by a street. Certainly no spectical. Big scuffle on half time with crowd involved was the only thing of interest.

Creeks had a very good first 1/2 especilly 2nd quarter into a 4 goal breeze . If creeks dominate the third should be game over at 3/4 time . Mcgregor on fire with feast and hill very good around the ground .

Creeks won the toss and kicked with the 3 goal breeze.
Pretty even 1st term. L.Ck 5-2 Will 2-6
2nd Qtr won it for the Creek, outscoring Willunga despite kicking into the breeze.
Creeks sealed the deal in the 3rd term with 5 unanswered goals.
Final score L.Creek 15-13 (103) Def Willunga 6-11 (47)
Lachy McGregor awarded the best on ground medal.
Creeks simply had too many targets up forward, were too quick around the ground and their defence were miserly, led by Rogers, Norman & Miller.
Great win for the Creeks although the match disappointed as a spectacle due to the lopsided margin.

Great result for Victor in the Colts , augers well for the future at the club . All clubs needs good juniors . I think in time the paid players will have to earn their money , not like now where some just rock up to collect it.

Congrats to all the winners today , well done to all Clubs involved.

Mcgregor was the difference in the first half. Kellock pretty much brought his own footy had an absolute sh*tload of it very stiff not to be BOG IMO

Warren also pretty nice day, worked up the ground all day but Mcgregor did it when they needed it. 3 in the first qtr impressed all us including a few pack marks with big Feasty in them

Agreed. When the game was there to be won McGregor was the man who stepped up and made it the Hawks day IMO. Extraordinary player for his size really.

If warren had kicked straight he would have won the medal easy, he would have taken 15 marks and at least 10 shots at goal particularly in the last qtr when he had around 5 set shots and didn't kick any of them. Hogged it a bit should have passed off to some other players, he must get paid per goal selfish. Creek were way too quick and as predicted had too much marking power around the ground rogers controlling the backs and warren and hately unstoppable up fwd. The big number of creeks recruits all played well, with only two locals kicking goals(warren and ashton place). The creek boys were in strath at the pub this morning then heading to town on bus to the woolshed i'm sure there would be some messy heads by now. Will be interesting if any retirements come out of the game?
Heard a whisper on feast retiring(hopefully for opponents sake), will baxter/steele and genevose go on?

Warren, Kellock, Rogers, Feast, Mcgregor were all very good. Willunga kept having a crack but their disposal let them down.

One of the best Senior Colts games i've seen for along time aswell.

This was a strange one because the only goal umpire I know of whose performance was not up to scratch and made mistakes in the finals (was the one that had a draw when the other goal umpire and timekeepers had a 1 point win) turned out to be one of the officiating a grade umpires on Saturday???? Seems he may have been right a few weeks back????

As for the big match on sat, Tim Rogers bog for mine. Kellock and Mcgregor obviously sensational but I'd expect that from paid players with sanfl experience. Also super impressed with Ashton-place. Home grown talent who showed no nerves and kicked a great goal

Yeah it was match of the day that's for sure. Victor Juniors and Willunga Reserves were firm favourites and the games went that way (aside from Pongy's good start in the B's). But having coming from the Elimination and with Willunga's big win in the 2nd Semi, Victor Senior's 5-1 to 0-4 in the first quarter had everyone a little surprised I think. There were signs that Willunga had the size and talent to get back in the game though and that they did, kicking 5 of their own in the second to lead by 1 point at half time. Seeing Simmo's nephew Nicholas taken to the bench with an injured wrist in the second after a great individual effort to smother, gather then kick at goal (but unfortunately miss) was a worry as he was playing a key role for Victor. Victor had the best of the 3rd quarter with the aid of the wind kicking 3 majors and restricting Willunga to 1 to lead by 14 points at 3 quarter time, setting the stage for a close final term and leaving the Victor crowd wondering if it was enough. The 4th quarter was a cracker with Willunga drawing within 1 straight kick but Victor managed to score well against the breeze kicking 3-2 to Willunga's 4 straight goals and hold on to win by 10 points. Jordan Bohnsack was best for Victor in my opinion, taking mark after mark in defence foiling many of Willunga's attacks closely followed by Simmons who toughed the rest of the game out despite obviously being troubled by his injury.

In the A's Willunga didnt seem able to counter Creek's pace. McGregor was in everything up forward in the first half - his pace is electric and his marking prowess put larger players (ie everyone else on the park) to shame. Creek had many good players but McGregor, Kellock and Rogers were the keys I thought. Warren was good too but I left at 3/4 time and heard his name on the radio alot in the last but the game was well and truely over by then.

A few names for the Creeks i heard today as possible retirements were Feast, Moore, Miller, James. Are 1 or 2 players considering giving SANFL another go? Already heard that 1 very recently retired SANFL player for the Creeks has been sounded out by a League club to make a comeback but no chance of that happening i would've thought.

Reading the SANFL thread earlier and it says he's been asked out to Sturt and Norwood.
