8 votes in 7 wins, 17 votes in 13 losses. He polls better in losses than wins. Interesting.

Last year I think only three votes came from losing games and was criticised for only playing well in winning games. A few of the posters here are churlish in the extreme.

If an umpire was to award a player votes after he was reported in the same game it would be hypocritical, if the umpire believes his report was warrented there is no way he can also believe the same player was the fairest on the field.

It used to be a rule of the medal that a player who was reported couldn't poll votes. I don't know whether that rule still applies.

Exactly. It's very, very rare for someone to be more prolific in losses than wins. If you don't think that's interesting then there's something wrong with you. Perhaps you're the one who is churlish. Lol.

You could easily spin that mere fact either way. You could say he got more votes than he deserved, or played selfish footy and cost North games, or more accurately (IMHO) you can point the finger at his teammates and ask why so many went missing and left so much to very few. Clearly in my mind, Allan can't be so important to North and have team success. Rather than bring Allan down to the level of the team, the team should rise to help him. An ideal situation is he gets 20-25 touches and makes them more valuable and becomes one of several you need to quell rather than being the only one you need to limit. When one player is worth so much, it isn't so difficult to limit their damage as it is to limit the damage of an even team effort.

Now that Nick Liddle has finsihed second, does that mean he is good enough to join James Boyd at Centrals?
