Depends on what kind of marinade we're using.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Did the cat ever go outside of your property?
When it went for a walk to the park did you have a leash on it?
Were you home when it was involved in its fight?

desexed, i can't say no but i can say he never went very far

no leash as the park (school oval) is directly opposite the house, he would just walk over with us & usually would lay in front of the stumps until we moved him away in the cricket nets

i would presume so & i would presume i was snoring at the time

Well if that's the case the pet solely died because you are an irresponsible pet owner. If Little Bayman wants to throw a brick through anyone's window it should be yours.
Cats if allowed outside without supervision are a pest and owners of cats are allowed to do that should be prosecuted and have the pet removed immediately IMHO.
The woman at no way is in any fault, you are 100% responsible for the demise of this poor creature. Please don't get another one.

I would never give an irresponsible pet owner my support. Nothing short of animal cruelty and acting irresponsibly with no care for animals and others in your society.
You're trying to look at blaming an innocent person of the crime you committed.
Hopefully you'll learn something out of your irresponsibility and teach your son a lesson at the same time too.

Hold your horses here Wedgie, Yes Bayman may have been slightly irresponsible for allowing his cat outside but what this Woman did in the name of 'Animal Welfare' is a disgrace and she should be confronted and told what ended up happening to the cat. She should be horrified and ashamed at what she has done to a pet animal.

Also I would be seeing if you could take it further with the RSPCA as I assume it was registered and had a collar??? and I am dumbfounded that they just made the decision to terminate the cat's life with out consulting its owners.

From where I sit (I hate cats also with a passion too) The Woman and the RSPCA wrongs far outweigh the original indiscretion

I don't think you're a bad person. A bad pet owner yes, but not a bad person.
Sometimes people have to be cruel to be kind and I'm just telling you as it is if you like it or not, there's no need to go off on another tangent and leave a football site or start ranting about a dictatorship and being abusive just because you started a topic and someone gave a frank and honest opinion in response to help you understand where you went wrong.
If for eg I started a topic about grammer and some people told me where I'd gone wrong I'd take all thoughts on board, mind you there would be some bloody long replies!
Now chins up and get yourself a some sea monkeys. 8)

You seriously are the most insensitive prick alive.

It is not illegal for cats to be outside, nor is it illegal for them to venture outside their yard, so how the hell can Bayman be irresponsible?

I'd call your parents more irresponsible for not using a condom.

Why should cats be allowed to roam outside when ever they want, causing all sorts of havoc in the local neighbourhood?? No other pet animal is allowed that freedom.

Still think the "lady" should be held accountabe for the death of the cat on the end though... some people just don't know how to mind their own business

It's not illegal for your cat to be outside or wander off your property, but it is irresponsible, selfish and inconsiderate to allow it. If bayman's cat, and the cat it was scruffing with had been controlled, then the cat would still be here.

The woman who complained is well within her rights to report it. It must have been a bad enough injury to be reported and then taken away and put down.

The sooner cats are controlled the same as dogs the better. Better for the cat, the wildlife it kills and the neighbors of cat owners. Too many people buy a cat, dump it outside, and feed it once a day, and are oblivious to what it does the rest of the 23 hours and 55 minutes.

The thread heading includes the words "...& their worth to you?" which I missed when I posted my comment earlier. My dog is about nine and worth plenty so she is well looked after, loved, played with, taken for walks and swims and fed quality food. My Burmese (Hirdy) carked it in March due to snake bite as I mentioned before but until then he was the most spoiled and loved cat on the planet. This Sunday his replacement arrives - a female this time because they wander less I believe. She will be treated like a princess. So - yeah my pets are worth plenty and I go out of my way to protect them and enjoy what they have to offer. I really feel sorry for people who don't like animals.
