As with every coach, Ray Hayes is employed by Central Augusta with 1 objective, win premierships and he has delivered 4 GF’s appearances in as many years at the helm with 2 victories and missing out by the narrowest of margins (1point) 3yrs ago. During this time of course he is going to upset a few, unfortunately some players miss out when it comes to the pointy end of the season it happens in all team sports from the highest level to grass roots. Those players who unluckily miss out can go either way, get the sh!ts buy a tennis racket or golf clubs and go play an individual sport or bust their guts next year and prove the coach wrong. I don’t think it is the fault of the players that get selected in front of these guys to play either. Time will tell if Ray gets it right i spose.

Just glad its not my club fulla thats all.Look these players have been around all the year and only are getting onboard now it sends an up yours to team mates hey. Wrecks the standards in a club when most are told to train before Christmass and others get to wait until the back up dollars come out in the lead up to finals. So only those with a good work ethic and need extra skill work and fitness should do preseason then??Whether Ray has got it right might hav more to do with the next few years then this weeks result.
Anyways Westies will get players out of it so thats all from me about it.
I hope the Port Augusta teams beat Pirie always so good luck to all.

Lets hope that none of your eligable A graders that played against Souths the other week drop back to your B's this week inplace of somebody that has played most of the year.

Different situation isnt it ya mulgu?? No one is losing there spot at West for players coming out of voluntry hibanation. If they are eligible they are just that! Its called Reserves cause these players are the "reserves" to the A grade. Players go up and down in every club.If clubs drop players back a month out its a differant story but we had both teams in the finals. I do agree with you that it sucks when someone that has been there most of year gets dropped but that can happen in the A grade too when someone gets back from injury or comes up.

SA Footy's own Squids to take over from Matt Ganley immediately?

Correct me if i am wrong Bush T but the point you are making is that the Centrals boys are in dismay at the selection process and the double standards the coach has with regards to his players.

I've heard in the past that some of these players are club stalwarts and Ray treats them with complete disregard. I have a mate that tells me that these senior players are not concerned with their own selections but their anger is aimed at the direction that Ray is taking the club. They believe that by allowing players to be selected in any team without attending any training or putting the time into the team during the year, the club/coach is sending the wrong message to the colts at the club.

For the record for any player to accept a position in these circumstances also needs to be given a reality check. It shows no respect to your team mates and does suggest as Bush T states they are glory hunters

The players that Tiger land is referring to might actually be looking at the bigger picture and are considering the clubs future and not themselves as suggested. From what i hear Ray is not a great coach and that the success of the Bloods is more due to the leaders on the team keeping things together.

Bush T any names of who may be up for grabs in 2012 recruiting personnel may be interested to here?

Whats everyone's tips for this week end??

I think Port in the under 15's, Sollies in the 18's, West in the B's and Central in a tight one in the A's (Shillabeer/Neary BOG)

Heard a sneaky rumor the big news at port may be that underwood could be a late withdrawal from tomorrows game after Connie ramrod and himself were exchanging visible love bites and the embarrassment could be too much for the happy couple.

This was in Wednesday's Northern Argus.

High-priced Tyrone
Meanwhile, Solomontown tall centreman/ruck rover Tyrone Price is rumoured to be at the head of Broughton-Mundoora’s recruit shopping list. This guy won’t come cheap and can play, exemplified by his back-to-back Spencer Gulf Football League Madigan medals in 2010/2011 and his outstanding performance for Northern Zone in the country carnival in July. Unofficials from Eagle HQ have denied they are also pointing the cheque book at a couple of prospects from the Adelaide Plains Football League.

did hear that big forward horner is keen to finally join solomontown after nearly being there for the last 2 years. Also T.Price has been offered huge money to play/coach in country Victoria but he has told people he is going to play with a mate in Adelaide first div competition. If the SGL played all saturday games he would stay with solomontown.

If the SGFL played all Saturday games they would actually get people - other than officials, trainers, girlfriends, wives, parents, grandpa and grandma - through the gates. No way will the Price boy be going to Victoria ST. He works for Freddy Freer in a comfortable well-paid job. Freer will be assistant coach at Broughton next year I suspct
