Any chance he will be drafted?

Luke Brown was nominated in Rd 1 and is said to be a certainty to be drafted. He played all but 1 game (missed through injury) as well as state u/18s. I thought he would have been a good chance to win this award.

I know Schiller has had a good year and even stitched up Eagleton one week, IIRC. But to win this award you'd think he was more like a draft certainty rather than a 10 year Dogs player?

It's judged on actual performances and not potential. Schiller won't get drafted IMHO. He's 19 and a fairly small midfielder, usually blokes like that don't get picked up unless they have MM type seasons. He's been a good contributor week in week out though, getting enough ball to do damage and keeping a good player quiet.

I'm glad you know how it's judged, because I think it's one of the most baffling awards in football.

For what reason(s) TSG?

It is no different to the NAB Rising Star Award in the AFL.

Probably just because his side didn't win it.

Surprised by this award, I think there are a few others that perhaps I would have had ahead of him but nevertheless that's not his fault so well done to the lad.

REALLY, i think its a pretty tough gig just to get a game in the midfield for Central nevermind cement your spot and become a key aspect of the midfield both as a tagger and as a ball winner.

He's had a good year and I don't think anyone will say he's not a decent player. But without seeing the other leading contenders week in week out it's impossible to say whether someone else perhaps was more deserving. I'm happy if he's had the best year out of all cantidates that it's not a bad/weak year for the star search nominees though.
