Surely Wundke in, and happy to have Harder as a forward pocket.
Sign of the way footy is played these days that in a reasonably low-scoring year, there is not a stand-out fullback. Would have thought Georgiou, Crabb and Greiger, even if not in good enough form that would normally warrant selection in this team, have been better than Rudolph?

I reckon George had a 3 or 4 week down period but other than that has been pretty good .. Hard to tell at times I guess with the way Norwood setup.

Most people recognize McGuiness' offensive play, but he's taken some big scalps defensively in the last couple of seasons that often goes unnoticed.

Agree about McGuiness's defensive efforts sometimes going unnoticed. Perhaps because of his size, to me it often seems he is going to be out of position, scrag a little and "just" spoils his opponent, a bit like Stephen Silvagni, rather than a real authoratitve spoil. But then i don't see him every week. Perhaps could have Alleway at CHB and McGuinnes at FB, but how much footy did he play at FB this year?

If they were selecting a genuine State team then I reckon that could work, although I prefer KMac a little further out from goal.

I fluked the tiebreaker Magarey Medal selection - Allan with 25 votes. Unfortunately I had the Ken Farmer Medallist in my team instead of Luke Harder, so I'm not expecting any phone calls.

That team is a farce - who were the selectors?

I know that i'm biased, being a South supporter, nevertheless how on earth did Wundke and at least one of South's midfielders (Liddle/Cross) not get in the team?

........ and i thought that the AFL was a joke

Smashed the rest of the comp in clearances, a massive KPI in the modern game. They go alright. Not unusual for you not to rate anyone not in Dogs colours of course. Once again you snipe from the ivory tower.....

Pretty defensive there considering they are the midfield of a team with a losing record. From the nominations I thought with the KF medallist and 3 of the best midfielders running around I wondered how they didn't win more games. Seems though that those 3 midfielders were making up the numbers.

I rate plenty of players. Just not so many South ones. Sorry if that upsets you, but I call it as I see it and none of those guys do enough damage when they play Centrals to earn my praise.

James Boyd would have been in the same boat for you no doubt . Give the whole side another year to develop and they will do plenty of damage. Liddle just came runner up in the Magarey, Cross won the Advertiser POTY and Stribling has been invited to an AFL camp. Mightn't be a lot in the above but people in higher places than you rate them.
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....

My thoughts precisely.

If I had to pick a Glenelg defender to slot into that back 6 then I'd have had Todd Grima (!) well before Sam Rudolph.

But if I didn't have to pick a Glenelg defender - then I wouldn't.

Well, being a South supporter I wouldn't have used biased to describe you, but hey, lets run with that.

I agree with you though, Wundke must be selected.

The Minor Round Premier's coach should have been appointed as notional state team coach. Then he would select a team with say Chandler ( ) and Darryl Hart who coached the last State Team.

It looks like it was an Adelaide Now proposal to do this though, which the SANFL went along with.
