Yeah winning the 2nd semi goes a long way towards winning the cup.
If Centrals win the 2nd semi they will win the GF

Centrals have no business being top given our injury list. That's enough to convince me that we have what it takes to overcome whatever is dished up for the remainder of the year, despite what happens today.

Centrals odds to win the flag have taken a massive boost after the thrashing of Norwood today:

CENTRAL DISTRICT $1.70
NORWOOD $3.20
WOOD-TORRENS $4.00
PORT ADELAIDE $15.00
GLENELG $26.00

South, North or West don't even rate a mention in Thornton Sportsbets market even though they all have a chance of making the finals...

I agree , to cop the injuries is one thing but they often are quality players as well. It's not "just" injuries to average players. Centrals must laugh at the other clubs as they suck them in all the time with ways to beat them. To me it seems Centrals recipe is they all know how to play a simple gameplan but more importantly the players can execute , they are skilled. It's in the head ..............not Centrals but the other teams .

Cheers

No particular reason. I am just thinking that if the eagles knock off the legs in the QF it will be 4-0 against them this season. If both sides meet again in the PF i would suspect a bit of pressure in the eagles camp not to fall over when it matters most.

Meh i could be completely wrong....just having a bit of fun.

Strong chance that will happen. I have based my mock finals with centrals losing because:

Out of their 11 straight 2nd semi victories:

Win 2 (00,01) on the 3rd attempt lost to sturt in 02.
Win 3 (03,04,05) on the 4th attempt lost to eagles in 06
Win 4 (07,08,09,10) on the 5th attempt......pattern emerging :-??

See I figure based on that we were robbed in 1998 so we'll win this year to make up for it, then the pattern can go on. It does mean 10 straight flags, but the cost of setting the pattern right is just a burden we'll have to live with.
