West by far the worst culprits, Nwd and Eagles pretty attacking and direct on most days but sometimes you have to play a more defensive numbers behind the ball and often because of your opponents to be honest.

When you get ex AFL players as coaches that is what you will get. Bass is going to coach in a style similar to what he played. Bass changes the plan to what his opponent is, the zone and press worked well today against the Eagles but Centrals play a more man and man style so we cant play the same way next week. You will see Norwood next week match up differantly and expect a more physical game style.

Jim, only one might be Bode for Davis, but would you risk losing that little bit of pace when you probably don't need Davis as another forward?

Occasionally fair enough, but it seems to be coming more the rule than the exception.

Worst performance since Sturt @ AO early in the season.
Got smashed in the centre of the ground.
Shelton was very good - Guifredda is NOT the right opponent for him (suggest Tiller if we get another crack @ Norwood this final series).

Godden was found wanting yesterday - Petrenko MUST play in the middle of the ground.

Norwood out played us all day.

Worrying performance but lets hope that is the 'kick up the arse' we need.
Will be difficult to win the Flag from here but not impossible.

Only 2 awards at presentations back at the club last night. 2nd best was Goldsworthy and best was given to Petrenko. Godden has guaranteed we will bounce back next week to make amends for that dismal effort.

As bad as the Eagles were, Norwood were terrific. Very similar to the corresponding game last year against Glenelg. They had winners all over the field and barely needed to raise a sweat after quarter time so should be fresh next week against Central.

Luke Powell can probably hold his head up high after his performance today as well

You're kidding aren't you? While he wasn't the worst, his game was well down on his usual performance and he was one of the culprits who allowed Norwood to easily clear the ball from the centre bounces time and time again.

I also thought that the match showed the huge gap in coaching abillity that exists between Bassett and Godden.

I must applaud Bassett for having the guts to drop a 'big name' player (Terlich) who apparently has been out of form for a number of weeks. This is despite it being a big match. Godden could have done something similar and dropped Treeby who is never in form but instead chose to drop Toumpas who has played really well in the last couple of weeks.

Eags didn't raise their intensity to finals level yesterday for whatever reason and paid the price. Desperately need an injection of pace ie Toumpas to take teams on.
A real test of our character and Godden's coaching this week against South. IF we defeat South and CD defeat Norwood, I would expect some tactical changes in the way we play norwood in prelim. IF is the biggest word in football though!

Eagles best player Petrenko ruled out by Crows due to groin soreness. That doesn't help us against pacey South.
I don't think we will get another shot at Norwood this season, Hope that I'm wrong.
We helped get South into the 5 and it may well be our own downfall because of it.

If that is true, then that is a MASSIVE loss.

I was out at the 3/4 time huddle yesterday for LifeFM and Petrenko was getting a heap of work done on his groin and he had it strapped quite heavily so not surprised to hear this.

When Norwood played Glenelg @ the Parade in Round 3, the crowd was 8,011. With both those teams playing, PLUS South and the Eagles, they only got 9,192 yesterday for the Elimination FINAL and the Qualifying FINAL. Pathetic. :(
Well done to those who actually turned up though.

It's crazy isn't it. But I really believe a lot of Glenelg fans couldn't handle another finals failure .

True, but Footy Park is closer for Glenelg fans than Norwood Oval. I mean Footy Park's not that bad
